All sorts of programs, specifically in line with the Five Point Thrust. This is Greek Life, but if certain people make certain comments this thread will become a nuclear weapon and threaten GC civilization as they know it. |

My chapter recently held an AKAnomics seminar where information was presented on buying homes, life insurance, wills, savings, etc. |

That sounds like a great program. In light of the Terri Schiavo case, wills (including living wills & power of attorney documents) are something that no one is too young to have. |

And I agree that people need to learn about those issues earlier in life, given how it's not guaranteed to you. Especially if they have families that may survive them. |

Tough to put on though if your chapter has only had its charter since '02. |

Oh that's a great idea. Would be good to also provide our alum and undergrad chapters with info on Living Wills given all the publicity surrounding the Terry Schiavo case right now. |

How so? My chapter has had its charter since '92 and we have successfully put on such large scale programs with no more than 10 Sorors on the yard at one given time and as little as 2 Sorors. |
The Dr. Betty Shabazz Delta Academy, emphasizing math and sciences for girls 11-14.
Seniors Program addressing health, wills, and other issues for Seniors (not college seniors). Annual Literary Luncheon featuring a Black author. Annual International Day of Service promoting AID awareness and prevention. Still wondering why Ten's and Imp's posts were deleted. Annual Crimson and Cream Days at the State Capitol meeting with state legislators about issues facing the Black community. Held in conjunction with Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. Catholic Charities Furniture Warehouse, again in conjunction with Kappa Alpha Psi to collect and organize used but well maintained furniture to be distributed for free to folx in need. Still wondereing why threads keep getting closed. St. Joseph's Children's Home mentoring and tutoring children in the Child Abuse/Neglect system. Annual scholarship program for high school seniors. |
