IHQ Trip
 

Hey all, just wanted recommend to other chapters to plan a chapter retreat to International Headquarters in Lexington, KY. I just got back from a tour this past weekend and it was a lot of fun. First of all my chapter uses the trip as a brotherhood event to just hangout and get to know each other better. All of you know how nice it is to be able to just hang out w/bros and w/o the women of your life. Then the next morning, and trust me it comes early, we head to IHQ. They have a small museum and a library. One of the items on display is McCarty's cane! Another is the orginal presidential protrait of Calvin Coolidge (the Smithsonian only has a copy). Also the field secretaries are all housed there when they're not on the road and they have a lot of interesting items from chartering dinners. One interesting fact the field sec that showed us around mentioned was IHQ is only a days drive from 60% of all the chapters. Unfotunatly he said not many stop by, even the close ones.

Rho Alpha took the trip in the Spring '06 Semester - Amazing! I'd highly recommend it to all brothers, and I'll note that it had a very positive effect on all the NIBs that were with us!
