Hello Kappas!
 

Hey all you Kappas in here! I will be rushing for the first time as a freshman this fall! I can't begin to tell you how excited I am, but you probably already know! I just wanted to say hi, and thank all you thoughtful women (and some men too) for giving us first time rushees some great advice. Well I did have one question about recs. I'm sorry if this has already been asked, but how many recs do you think I should get for Kappa? I have a couple, and they really help? Can you give me any little piece of advice? Thanks again!!

Hey UFgirl-- if you "already have a couple" (meaning more than one, right? How many are we talking here? 2? 3? More than that?) you should be all set on the recommendation front.

That is not to imply in any way that having any recs (or even multiple recs) will get you in.... but recs are a great way for the Sisters to "get to know" you before you even set foot in the chapter house during the first rush party.

Also, did you submit a resume or a picture of yourself to the Kappas who wrote your letters of recommendation? This is always a good idea, just to give the Sisters a snapshot of who you are, what you're interested in, how your grades were in High School, and to put a face to your name. If you didn't do this already, don't worry! You can always ask your KKG recommender to send that stuff to the Chapter at a later time.

Hi UFGirl!

Best wishes to you as you head into Rush at the University of Florida! My whole family (except me) went to Florida State (go 'Noles!), so I can't root for UF itself http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/wink.gif, but I can definitely tell you that it boasts an outstanding KKG chapter (have you seen their stellar website? Wow!)

Please don't hesitate to ask any questions you might have--about Kappa specifically, or about the Rush process in general.

I'm in KKG at FSU, but am currently studying in London and two UF KKGs live right next door - they are great! If they are an accurate representation of KKG at UF, then it's an awesome group. Good luck! :)

I am an alum of Epsilon Zeta at FSU--I hadn't seen any other FSU Kappas post before. It's nice to "meet" you. Did you hear how rush went?

I heard we got a bunch of girls from rush - I want to say 37 or something? But I can't quite remember the number. I'm excited to get back to Tallahassee and meet the new girls!
