rushing in the fall

hey alll!

i've wanted to join a sorority for awhile but never did and was just thinking of hopefullly getting into one this fall...i'll be a jr but i'll probably be in school an extra year...i've been reading some other threads regarding a scenario like this...but overall, how accepting are sororities toward older girls?

thanks in advance for your responses!!! :)

Well, it sounds like she's already looked at some threads, so don't jump on her yet.

We really can't tell you anything other than it depends on your school. When you did your searches, did you look for your school specifically? If you know what the Greek system at your school is like, did any of the sororities take upperclassmen? Were they a select few?

Your best source of info is your own Greek Life office. Ask the Greek advisor if juniors get placed or not. Or, see if there's any COR events around campus so that you can check the groups out. I don't know if anyone would be giving bids this late in the semester, but they might.

Find some sorority members from your school who will tell you straight out how the system works there. At some schools, it's no problem to be older; at others, it just doesn't happen.
