FSU pre-law
Has anyone heard about the Undergraduate Pre-Law Summer Program at Florida State? I want to apply, but haven't heard much about it.

I've never heard of something like that... don't know anyone who's been to one, never met anyone in law school who ever talked about one... |
Well, I know that it exists. Here's the website: http://www.law.fsu.edu/summer_undergraduates/index.php
I just wanted to know if anyone has had any good/bad experiences with it. :) |
I got an email about it a couple months ago, I think it said its recommended or you have to be in? your sophomore year...I'll try and find it

This is probably one of the programs by the State of Florida that encourage underrepresented ethnic groups to investigate specific career paths. I knew about the architecture and engineering ones, and I'm not surprised that there is one for those interested in law. It must be fairly new, as even though I didn't go to undergrad in Florida, I was always sent information about these summer programs.
If you're from, or considering law school in, Florida...it might be a really good idea for you to attend if you apply and are accepted. As more emphasis is placed on preparing minority students for the challenges of a legal education, these programs will probably become more common. |
I know Georgetown Law also has some sort of short-term program with a fellowship of some sort for undergrads. I don't think it's for minorities but I don't know.
