Whoa there guy. My personal opinion is that you go away, but that's just me.

In your OTHER post, you're ALREADY a member of a fraternity-the one in your signature. But NOW you're debating over wanting to be in an NPHC group? How strange.

If my brothers and sisters in the NPHC orgs will indulge me for the briefest of moments...

YOU GOTTA BE EFFING KIDDING ME.

This NIC kid now steps aside to allow the proper individuals to come on in and regulate.

This is going to be fun.

SpaceGhost,

I am assuming that Omega Kappa Psi is a high school or community fraternity because your profile says that you were born in 1989. Is your fraternity sponsored or advised by members of NPHC organizations? If so, I am disappointed that they haven't done more to show you that fraternity and sorority life is so much more than stereotypes and stepping.

I am an Alpha, but some of my best friends and Sigmas and Omegas. My sisters are unofficially the AKAs, but a true fraternity man doesn't limit himself in the ladies that he associates with -- all women should be placed on the fraternity man's pedestal.

If you are still in high school, that's where your focus should be. The majority of fraternities will not take you until you are a Sophomore in college anyway -- you have time.

Scholarship comes first. Focus on getting in college and learning while you're there. Come visit us again in a few years and let us know which organization you picked.

And by the way....we don't know you, so we can't tell you where you'd be a good fit. Only you can decide that -- and then, even after you decide, there is no guarantee that the fraternity will pick you.

Spaceghost,

'89? You're 15 years old, going on 16. Probably a sophomore in high school. Don't worry too much about college activities just yet! Worry about your grades so you can GET IN! And that driving test ;)

Dial back your jets dude.

When you find the right Greek Organization, it will be. Just get there first. Dont rush to judgement to soon.

My son was born in '89. He is still a freshman in HS. Eligible for his permit next month, but no way on this green earth that will be happening. This appears to be from someone almost as immature as my son.

Questions for all on this board-- what is stepping?

Stepping is a complex performance involving synchronized percussive movement, singing, speaking, chanting, and drama. Step-shows have become a primary site for expressing African American identity. Developed by African American fraternities and sororities, stepping is now practiced in many African American churches, elementary, middle, and high schools, community groups, and Latino, Asian American, and multicultural Greek-letter organizations. Dance ethnographer Jacqui Malone calls stepping "one of the most exciting dance forms to evolve in the twentieth century."
