MP3 Players/Downlaods

Does anyone have a MP3 player? If so which one and how do you like it? I treated myself today to an Apple iPod shuffle, the $99 one that holds about 120 songs, for my workouts. So far its fun! My little cousin brought an MP3 player to my house last weekend and I wanted one! I just wanted to compare those out there and see what there all about! Make sure I got my moneys worth! :p

Soror Wonderful1908:

I have been a part of the MP3 craze for some time now. Over 3 years ago, I purchased an iRock MP3 player. So small it fit in the palm of my hand. It was one of those first wave of MP3 players. The one I had, the iRock 530, ran on one AAA battery had a memory of 128MB (with my flash card, I ended up doubling the amount of memory to 256 MB). At one point, I had close to 175 songs on the player. You couldn't tell me nothing!

Late last year, I received an iPod mini (in pink of course!). So now I am really rocking and rolling. The mini has a 4GB capacity. I currently have 375 songs on my mini, with room to spare. While the advertised song capacity is 1,000, depending on the size of the music files, most people get around 800-900 songs on their iMini. The only problem I have with my iMini is that I am constantly having to recharge it. However, there are some after market products that are available to solve that problem.

I absolutely love my iMini, so much to the point that I have given her a name :D , LOL. I still have my iRock and plan to keep it. I can't let it go. Maybe when my mom gets up to date and is tech savvy enough (LOL), I will pass it on to her. Until then, it stays with me.

Soror, if you have not already be sure to visit the various iPod communities on the internet. On Apple's site, you can check their discussion boards specifically for iShuffle . I also recommend this great site called iPod Lounge as well. It is all things iPod, including gear for your iShuffle; software for your iPod to make it more fun, useful; reviews; new products; sites of interest; and an excellent buyer's guide, just in case you ever want to upgrade from the iShuffle.

I also have an iPod (U2 edition) which is 20 GB. I love it. I'm definately glad I waited to get mine. So far I have about 2200 songs, and I haven't even used half the space. What I like about the iPod is that it plays all audio formats. I encode using the ACC format, which gives you the same quality as mp3 using less space. Also, this isn't advertised but the iPod comes with a few games that keeps me busy at work.

I purchased a 40G iPod a couple of weeks ago. Initially, it was just too much work to figure it all out, so it just sat in the box and I begain to question the purchase. Well, I had some free time this weekend and I downloaded over 1,000 songs from my CDs and I absolutely love my iPod now. I don't know what I ever did without it! I was in the bed last night with my ear phone on, lol, and my commute to work this morning was much more pleasant. I haven't even forged into the land of iTunes yet.

My next step is to purchase the Bose docking station. Does anyone have one? If so, how do you like it as opposed to a traditional stereo system?

I don't have the Bose system, but I remember reading a review for it, it was pricey but the best quality and option for the ipod.

Nah I don't have this and would not have a need. I am an XMer, so I don't even own a "traditional stereo" anymore (LOL). However Bose makes EXCELLENT products, so I would not doubt that it would be a great addition for any iPoder.
