Someone had this too:

I thought it was unusual

I'm thinking that folks are thinking that because it's pink and green and has frogs, that "what Alpha Kappa Alpha woman wouldn't want this?" Well, I for one do not carry/collect frogs, bunnies, mice, or any other unofficial symbols. My SIL gave me a pink shirt with a green frog on it and I told her "You DO realize that this is not an official AKA symbol, don't you?"

Sorors, JUST SAY NO!

My view on unofficial symbols is to each her own. I don't think the reptilian world is cute :p and being of a certain age, I am not a critter wearer, my semi-preppie style notwithstanding.

That tea set is yuck!!!! I think the unofficial symbol thing has alot to do with region and age groups. When I was made I was giving all kinds of frog stuff so I have a few things, but my mother and grandmother on the other hand wouldn't have a frog anywhere in their homes. It can be tastefully done.

LOL.

One of my chapter members would LOVE this. She collects frogs, even at 40. You should see her home during Christmas. She has frogs dressed in santa suits all along her mantle. She even has a "tat" on her ankle. :o

I'll probably send her the link. :o

That stuff is horrendous.

I have a room mate who is an OES, who recently told me that she was interested in MY sorority collects frogs. They are everywhere in our apartment, that is where ever her PINK and GREEN stuff is NOT! She even took the liberty to paint some of the clothing on those little critters PINK!
