Dear Sisters of Local Sororities:

The sisters of Delta Rho invite you to attend the 3rd Annual Local Sorority Convention at The University of Missouri – Kansas City in Kansas City, Missouri. This event will take place on Friday, June 24th and Saturday, June 25th of 2005.

The convention will include:
· Group Sessions: Learn about Risk Management, Chapter Communications, Event Planning and more from UMKC and KC area experts that have all worked with Local Sororities!
· Breakout Sessions: These one hour roundtable discussions are a great chance for delegates to discuss issues, share ideas, and exchange information! Breakout session topics will include:
o Public Relations: Philanthropy, Rush/Recruitment, Website, Etc
o Event Planning: Formals, Mixers, Sisterhood Events, Parent’s Weekend, Date Parties, and More
o Risk Management: Sober Sister programs, Insurance, and More
o Fundraising/Finances: Budgets, Fundraising Ideas, Etc
o Sisterhood: Rituals, Enriching Sisterhood and Bonding, and more
o Recruitment: Turnout, Events, T-Shirts, and Much More
o Campus Involvement: Getting Your Name Out, Greek Week, Etc
o And Much More!
· Local Sorority Planning Meeting: For Chapters that would like to host a Local Sorority Convention in their region of the USA, for the Chapter that would like to host the 2006 Local Sorority Convention, and to look at creating An Association of Local Sororities for more idea sharing!
· Evenings Free to discover Kansas City and spend time with other delegates from local sororities around the United States!
o Shop and Dine at the Country Club Plaza – Two Blocks from UMKC
o Visit the KC Zoo, Catch a Wizards Soccer Game, Play at Worlds of Fun or Oceans of Fun, and more – All Close to UMKC!
· Every Group and Breakout Session includes a packet of useful information for delegates to take back to your chapter!

The cost is $35 per delegate to attend the convention and the fee includes all convention materials, lunch on Saturday, snacks on Friday and Saturday, a convention t-shirt and other convention goodies!

Any GreekChatters planning on going this year?

I will speak with my Chapter about the conference. I know that in the past, we always have attended "greek-wide" conferences. Unfortunately, they are not very well-geared toward local sororities, and we are often set aside.

hmmm...I'd love to go...but I'm not sure if my chapter wants to send a rep with more "exec" positions or if we can even go. The housing and gas is what would kill us, unless we could do it grey hound style.

Sigma Psi Kappa (from New Jersey Institute of Technology in Newark NJ ) is planning on sending 4 delegates. I have also contacted some of the other local sororities in New Jersey.

I'll have to talk to my girls on this one, I think it'd be fun though. I may talk to some of the other local sororities on campus.

We have about 8 members that are interested. We think this will help us a lot since we're the only local sorority in our area.

i am intersted in going....im from Kean University (Union, NJ). when do u need to rsvp by?

We're actually going to be sending four delegates. We're all very excited!

We're sending 5 delegates (4 actives and 1 alumna), and I'm one of them. I'm so excited, it'll be great to meet other amazing local sorority women (and going to the casino will be fun too).

We should totally have a Greekchatter meet-up at the conference.

New to Greek Chat! We have about 9 girls going to the convention and I am one of them. We are the only greek life on campus which is sad! If anyone knows of anything else going on for local sororities please PM me DonDonZot!
