I want to go tanning now :(

Edited to add: Anyone know how I can find a tanning salon in downtown chicago?

Tanning's all to common at my campus.

I recall seeing students with their towels laid out on Bachman Lawn, the Engineering Quad, and the park next to the campus apartments.

I never understood why they'd tan on campus, though. Waikiki's only a short 5 minute bus ride away.

It was very common at Boston U. BU doesn't have a traditional campus, so to speak, but there is one area of grass in the middle called the BU beach. When the weather warmed up, there were always people tanning in that area. It was always a sign that summer was finally coming.

Whenver it was warm out, people would be tanning on every quad and in their yards. when it wasn't warm out, it was sometimes difficult to get an appointment at any of the 900 tanning salons in town.

Word. However, Miami Beach is open until midnight so that helps.

Does it still go 24 hours the week before spring break?

I don't know. But that would be grrrrreat. Not that it would help, since we Irish folk have difficulty with the tanning.

And even though it was open 24 hours, you still couldn't get an appointment!

I can't believe people still tan.

Me either. I know of a few people who are addicted to self-tanners and tanning salons..and despite the fact that I tell them time and time again that they look so damn ridiculous, they still do it!

I'm all about having a natural tan. That's cool. It doesn't take a genius to figure out when you're overdone.

I've found in life that there are two types of women. Those who like farmer's tans and those who think they look ridiculous.

I never understood tanning. I guess it is b/c I'm naturally tan ;)

I'll never forget my first sorority formal. All I would hear around the house was when people were planning on going tanning or which tan they got.. where they got it...:p

I don't remember ever seeing anyone tan on the UNT campus though?

I think @ TAMU-CC that would be totally understandable since it is the school built on a beach :p A bunch of my high school friends went there and I looooooooved the fun atmosphere of the campus! (the beach parties were fun too ;))

Tanning was big if you lived in the dorms. There was a huge field surrounding all the dorms and people would just sprawl out on weekends and whatnot. Though I don't know that many people that go out to tan purposely on the main campus. It's usually too warm here to stay outside for long periods of time and then head to class. I HAVE been sunburned though from standing outside too long in the sun on campus. (Fall recruitment and Greek Week/Sing come to mind.)

I hear you, girl.

I've been blessed with the genes so I'm naturally "dark" or "tan" or whatever you call it...but I'm glad I live in a place where it's pretty much 80 degrees 80% of the year. ;)
