Teacher Sex Case Shocks Braxton County

Toni Woods admitted having sexual contact with five middle school students, State Police said.

Braxton County residents said they were shocked and disappointed after a middle school teacher was accused of sexually assaulting five of her students.

Toni Lynn Woods, 37, remained in the in the Central Regional Jail in Sutton Friday on $100,000 bond. The Strange Creek woman faces eight counts of third-degree sexual assault.

State Police said Woods admitted to having sexual intercourse with three of her students and oral sex with two others.

The charges are a shock to a community that Woods has called home all of her life.

"I think it's pretty crazy being a teacher and all," said Braxton County resident Ryan Dusenberry. "She taught my sister. She taught my cousins and all that."

Mary Collins of Nicholas County called the allegations sickening. "It's awful that we can't send our children to school and be safe and worry about an adult taking advantage of a situation," Collins said.

One resident, though, wanted to remind people that there are more victims than those who allegedly were assaulted.

"Im not saying it was right and I think there are definitely issues that are very deep that need to be worked out," said Braxton County resident Amy Carr. " I'm not trying to slight the children that were affected by this, but I just want everyone to know realize that she has two children of her own that are also affected by this."

The students claimed the assaults began at the beginning of the school year and ended just last week.

Woods has resigned from her teaching job and turned in her teaching certificate.

Well this is certainly a departure from other teacher/student news. The other teachers were at least cute. This woman is downright scary.

Coaches are worse
 

According to www.badjocks.com, already in 2005 there have been 41 cases of mostly high school coaches having sex with students. Bad jocks doesn't track the sex lives of non-coaches.

She's the ugliest one yet.

It was reported that she was an assistant coach of some sort for the wrestling team...heh.

She is definitly...rough.

There was one female teacher in my highschool that would have sex with kids on the football team. Our football coach is rumored (strongly) to have had sex with a few of the cheerleaders....and a cheerleader's mom or two.

Right after my class graduated from high school, a coach married a cheerleader and the band director married a majorette. No one had a clue anything had been going on.

The first 2 are still married, no idea about the second couple.

ugh. I should see if I can derail my Preparation for Teaching Secondary Education course on Wednesday night to discuss all the cases popping up recently.

Were the students being home schooled or were they related to the teacher?

No, but if I was a student that she had her eye on, I'd be too scared to fight. She looks like she'd probably eat them if they tried...

An update:
She was led into court this week and she had 8 policemen around her and she was done up in head to toe in bulletproof gear.

Oh, an a clarification, she only had sex w/4 students, but still engaged in "other" activities with numerous students. Apparently this all began two years ago and ended last month.
