Packin' my bags for Tucson...
Hey everyone!
As Tucson is... less than 4 months away, I was wondering who's all going. And if any of you want to chat on AIM, feel free to IM me! My screen name is BedChex. My chapter, Iota Lambda, at St. Norbert College was just installed this past weekend, and I'm looking for some other Alpha Xis around the country to get excited for Tucson with me or to just chat with! TFJ, Kathleen :D |
Kathleen ... I'm glad you're planning on attending convention ... its one of the best experiences you'll have with Alpha Xi.
I'll be here ... :-) ... the Tucson Alumnae Association is getting ready and is really excited to be able to host our sisters here this summer. I'm chair of the hospitality committee so you should be able to find me in the hospitality room .... when I find out where things are going to be I'll let everyone know ... I'd like to set up a time and place to all of us GC'ers to get together ... ETA ... PM me if you want to know about things to do in Tucson, about what the weather will be like (hot), what to wear .... |
HI Delta Delta Chapter here,
i will be there !!! for. sure question though how do i get from the airport to where ever we are staying??? i have never been out of the state before so this travel thing is new to me xi Donna :) :D |
re: getting to the resort from the airport. .. there should be information in your registration packet (when it comes)
... here's the info from the convention information web site .... Ground Transportation Destination & Conference Services, Inc. will be providing ground transportation to and from Tucson International Airport. The cost will be $25.00 per person one-way. Reservation forms will be included in the registration confirmation mailing. Cabs and rental cars are also available at the airport. You probably want to use the transportation service, the cost of a cab will probably be greater .. unless you have someone you can split the cost with. |
You know i am going kathleen...

I'll be there!
Convention is always a lot of fun. This will be my 6th.
Now if I can just figure out what I'm wearing. Decisions, decisions... who am I kidding the only real choice is do I wear what is already in my closet OR do I use this as a great excuse to go shopping..... what a hard decision ;) See ya'll there. |
What kind of attire will we need for the dinners? Are these formal affairs, or more casual?
|
Wednesday night and Thursday night are usually described as "church dress".... you will see a variety from dressy pant suits to sun dresses. The Rose Banquet on Saturday is semi-formal... typical "little black dress" will be the norm. Many women do wear full length dresses and go more formal - it is a dressy affair.
|
Hmmm...that definitely sounds like a good excuse to go shopping! I know I will be. :)
|
What about attire during the day? Will it be business casual, or casual?

dress during the day for meetings and break out sessions is business casual ... something you would feel good wearing your quill with. Of course, Thursday morning is white ...
For the GCer's meeting ... how about at the hospitality desk at 30 minutes before the dinner on Wednesday night? and don't forget to bring your school supplies. The Tucson Alumnae have designated a couple of schools that really need the donations .... |

Hey I'm up for meeting. I think it would be great meet AXiD's from across the nation.
|
Me too!! Me too!!!
The Iota Zeta chapter president and I will both be arriving on Tuesday. We'd love to hang out with folks that afternoon, or meet for dinner that night. One little problem with arriving early- the shuttle will only run on Wednesday. Anyone else getting there on Tuesday? How are you getting to the hotel? See you all there!!! |
