Is it true that Theta is very exclusive?
Hi Thetas! I waswondering...is it true that it is hard to become a Kappa Alpha Theta...I dont know why, but I've always wanted to become a Theta--can't really explain it!
I would lke some input! Thanks! |
I honestly don't think we are any more 'exclusive' than any other large National Sorority...don't worry about not being able to get in, if you are a great girl, we will love you! Just be yourself. If you want Theta, just be true to yourself and to the sisters.

Hey:) I'm a new member of Theta at Eastern Kentucky University, and i love it so much! Already it has impacted my life in nothing but a positive manner. I too always had a unexplainable desire to be a Theta. As i was told during my preference party during rush, Theta isnt something you become, it's something you've always been. Like my sister's reply before me, just be yourself during rush. The Theta sisters will see your best qualities and enthusiasm shine through and will love you.
Best of luck, SpoiledAngel |
I feel that Theta is exclusive in its own way. I was anti-greek before I joined Theta, and after I joined I could not beleive how much the ideals that Theta holds helps me throughout my life! Everyday that I come across a problem I think about Theta and how I can solve the problem by thinking of what Theta stands for. This group of girls are my best friends and I know that we will be close for a long time. I feel at home everytime we are all together. It is a great feeling.
So to answer your question, Greek life is what you make it to be. |
Dear Bubbles,
I believe that each GLO is exclusive in its own right. I hold Theta dear to my heart, and I am so glad you are interested in my organization. But, I urge you to not limit your interests to Theta solely, as there are equally fine sororities out there, waiting for you to discover them. The fine qualities you see in Theta are also in many of the other sororities. I am glad you like Theta, but I urge you to also keep your options wide open! Like my sisters have said, just be yourself and whichever sorority you end up in was "meant to be." If Theta is for you, you will become a sister of Kappa Alpha Theta. I do hope you have a wonderful rush. Please keep us updated with any news. Angelina |
Anyone from Emory?
Hi! I'm Sarah, and I'll be at Emory next semester. I've been looking at the different activities, and I'm really drawn to the KATs. I know the faculty advisor, and it looks like the girls have a lot of fun. Are there any sort of girls Thetas prefer? I guess I'm just kind of worried about the whole exclusiveness of the Greek system. Any advice?

I have a friend in THETA at SMU
My best friend Cate is a junior member of Kappa Alpha Theta at Southern Methodist University. She knew she wanted to be a THETA right after open house when she rushed January of her freshman year. However, she went through rush with an open mind and of course found other favorite sororities but alas on Bid Day, a THETA she became. I remember calling her during rush week just to check in and she was so excited about the whole process!:) I was so thrilled for her when she got what she wanted! What I hear from her is that THETA at SMU is in the top three of all of the sororities(I believe there are at least 7-10 sororities at SMU) and that they are very interested in potential new members who have good, strong GPAS from high school and 1st semester in college, also enthusastic, happy, positive, cute etc. Anyhow, in my opinion she's a perfect fit(even though I am not a THETA). I hope this helps...it's different for every chapter though. Have a great rush!
