Be encouraged. Just about every Eastern Star I know is a member of a Sorority. It's up to you to manage your time and commitments. I would personally suggest that you not start both at the same time. Enjoy the "neo" phase of each one, and be sure you know where you fit into the first before you persue the second.

BGLO Members Eastern Stars - how do you feel about them seeking membership?
I am currently pursuing membership into the Order of the Eastern Star and wanted to know how it is looked upon by members of BGLO's. The reason I ask is that I am also seeking membership into a sorority. Would it be taken as a sign of understanding sisterhood and practicing service. Or is it looked at a a possible conflict of time or interests.
I'd really appreciate your responses. Thankyou in advance. |
Peace & Blessings
I've seen many cases where it's encouraged to become a member of both, as we both derive our basic ideologies from the same source. I do find that most will become a Sorority member first and then on to O.E.S. But, I feel very safe in saying that it's not frowned upon. And to echo Gina_lynn, definately do them separately. --------------------------------------------- SapphireSensation The Epitome of Finerwomanhood |
