40 Years Ago Today: Malcolm X Assasinated (by NoI?)
 

Its been 40 years since Malcolm Shabaz (born Malcolm Little, and formerly Malcolm X) was murdered in Washington Heights.

He did leave his mark on American society, and we can only wonder where he would have gone had he not been murdered.

Many people, myself included, believe that he was killed by the Nation of Islam.

"Malcolm X: Make It Plain" will be tonight's American Experience. It starts at 9 PM in most areas.

They do the best documentaries on television IMO and I'm sure this one will be no exception.

I believe it, too.

I hate to speak ill of the dead.....but Elijah Muhammad....ugh.

Anyway.....the eulogy of Malcolm X by Ossie Davis really makes me emotional every time I hear or read it.

I really love Malcolm X, even though he had been long dead by the time I knew who he was.

I definately think that the NOI was directly responsible for the assassination. I would go as far as saying that Farakhan planned the entire thing.

Possibly really dumb question, but I couldn't find the answer online.

Some of the people they intervied last night were named things like "Joseph 2X" - they had a numeral before the X used as a last name. What does the numeral signify?

It just means that there was already a Joseph X in the mosque.

The Nation of Islam claims the evil scientist Yakub did it.
