I guess we are at war with them now? The only logic to this is that is on the way back.

we should make an all out grab for the unorganized Afghani terrority, build it up, move people in there, and then make a federal republic. I'm serious, that could work. Then Iran would never try anything becouse our satatlite nation would be right next door to them

The situation in the middle east. We are close to going to war with syria/iran but need to focus on afghanistan first.

We're not at war with them, not even close. Try not to believe everything the media tells you, they have been used time and time again by the government in these cases. Besides, Syria has no military. They'd be wiped out before anything could start. As for Iran, there is no motive to go in and start a war.

Wait wait wait.....Syria is where half the terrorist are hiding right now. Syria is where Saddam hid his chemical weapons. Syria is waiting for the chance to push Israel in the sea. Syria is where most of the foreign insurgent fighters in Iraq are coming from. WTF do you mean we're not at war with them?

Just remember... if the Syrians start getting all hot and bothered about kicking some Yankee ass, they forget that right next door is their most hated enemy, who will kick 'em in the ass, and give 'em the Preparation H-Bomb.

I thought that Syria was off the hook.

But in the last week, Iran and Syria announced an alliance. And all fingers are pointing to Syria about the assasination of Lebanon's former Prime Minister (although they haven't been proven to be guilty.)

Also, there is real apparent progress being made between Israel and Palestine. Its no secret that Syria's government has absolutely no vested interest in a real peace being reached there. After all, Syria is one of those governments that uses their state controlled media to cover the Israeli-Palestinian conflict so that the Syrian government's incompetence is deflected.

And now is strong language from President Bush.

Credibility may produce an ironically peaceful solution. Is the concept that President Bush might use American military power to overthrow an Arab regime credible? Hell yes it is. It happened to Syria's next door neighbor 23 months ago. Iraq was a nation run by the Baathist party. Only one other nation in the world is run by a Baathist party: Syria. Even if these two Baathist party's were connected in name only, any Arab conspiracy theorist can connect the dots, and modern Arabian culture loves conspiracy theory.

I'm making no predictions except this; within the next year, Syria will change one way or another.

I don't know about that. If Syria change their way, where will the CIA take their terror suspects to interogate? I guess Egypt and Saudi Arabia is an option.

Or Qatar.
