Absorbing Local Fraternity or Sorority

When was the last time your national organization absorbed a local organization?

Absorbing a Local

Lambda Chi Alpha absorbed a local in 2003 at the University of South Carolina-Aiken by the name of Pi Kappa Psi. A year later they were chartered as the Pi-Alpha chapter and are the flagship fraternity there.

It happens all the time. Its a common form of colonization with most fraternities.

DU is absorbing Omega Phi Alpha at The University of The Pacific , founded 1922 and Delta Tau at Arizona State which was founded in 2000.

Not sure it is absorbing, but affiliation of a Local, local.

My idea with BX was to affiliate with a National.

In todays Society, it is hard because of Insurance and Hazing Regs. not to be affiliated with an IHQ!

In January, Tri Sigma installed it's Eta Rho chapter, originally Theta Xi Alpha local sorority @ Arstrong Atlantic State Univ.
