See, this is what we have in common. I've only watched five episodes total of all of the "reality" shows.

Is the Queer Eye a reality tv show?

DeltAlum 02-17-2005 10:35 AM

I avoid it like the plague.

emleepc 02-17-2005 11:32 AM

I'm selective about my reality tv watching....

WCUgirl 02-17-2005 01:15 PM

I, too, am selective about the reality shows I watch. I will say I am avoiding AI4 like the plague - I wish that whole series would just go away! At least this season, for some reason, it's not as prevalent as it has been in the past.

I love how many TV officials say "We thought it would be a fad, but I guess reality TV is here to stay."

I'm guessing this fad lasts another couple years or so. People get tired of stuff eventually. Back in the 80s, we had good wholesome shows. Then as we moved into the 90s, it got a lot more racy. Then reality came. Things get tired sooner or later...

People thought the boy band craze would last.....where are they know?

I hate that stuff. Though I will admit, I caught The Surreal Life one night and laughed so hard at how crazy these people are.

Although I will admit, Reality TV makes me feel so good about myself and how not-weird I am. :p

Very perceptive.

In fact, it appears to have already begun to run its course. The problem is that it is very inexpensive to produce when you consider alternatives like West Wing or Law and Order.

Speaking of racy, the House of Representatives passed a bill yesterday to raise the fine on broadcasters from $32,000 per occurrance to $500,000 per occurrance for incidents like the Janet Jackson costume malfunction during last years Super Bowl.

Now, it's up to the Senate to pass it as well.

Me too.I sporadically watched the first few seasons of Real World but stopped after being repulsed by Puck.

Sistermadly 02-17-2005 03:13 PM

The only one I've ever really watched is "The Amazing Race" but now that they're doing a Survivor cross-over, I'll be avoiding this season.

PhiPsiRuss 02-17-2005 03:19 PM

I've watched about a half dozen episodes total of all reality TV shows.

Stupid genre.

ragtimerose 02-17-2005 03:29 PM

I don't watch 'em either. 'nuff said.

aephi alum 02-17-2005 09:05 PM

As a rule, I avoid reality TV. The only reality TV I've ever watched more than one episode of, is Queer Eye (if you consider that reality TV) and Sorority Life (guilty! but the sorority featured in season 1 was often mistaken for a chapter of my sorority, so I decided to keep half an eye on it).

FSUZeta 02-17-2005 10:03 PM

reality tv is the tv executives way to produce a show cheap-no actors, no script writers, and people who have no lives and desperately want their 15 minutes of fame!
