Tommy Franks

I know this is along shot but were any of you at U of Texas-Austin when Tommy Franks was an Active member there? If so, could you give me a idea of what kind of brother he was?

He received his Masters @ Shippensburg University, but that was before we were founded here.

A moderately detiailed bio for Brother Franks is here:

I'm not sure of what years he went to UTA, but I don't know of any Arlington members that knew him or if he affiliated with the Arlington Chapter.

Tommy Franks

Um Jimmy Ball, Tommy Franks went to UT-Austin. I was alum coordinator at the Texas chapter for two semesters and met many alumni from the mid 60's Tommy Frank's never came up although I bet many of the same alum's, (Jimmy Sewell Texas -1966 Jack Slayton 1967 are you reading this), might be able to tell us about General Frank's younger days.

According to the bio link I posted and a few other places I've read, he was at UT for two years, where he joined DU, but did not graduate. He finished his undergrad degree at UTA...

Jimmy after reading your link I guess we are both right- UT and UTA ,not a totally uncommon combination although the article does imply that Franks was much older when he attended UT-Arlington.

In his book "American Soldier" he says he took a break from college when his grades went way down because of too much partying so joined the army for vietnam war. A few years later he decided to start college again in order to become an officer but he went to a different school this time.
