Eagle Scouts

Just for Sh*ts and giggles....how many Eagle Scouts are on here? In my chapter, 8 out of our 40 active brothers are Eagles...anyone else?

Tom Earp 02-14-2005 09:48 AM

Yepper, with two palms!:)

toovigilant22 02-16-2005 02:49 AM

I guess I forgot to add that I am also an Eagle Scout...only with one palm...I got really lazy....

Ottor 246 02-16-2005 08:44 AM

There were several Eagles in Phi-Tau during the time I was active. I can't remember how many, but it was well above the 2% that the BSA predicts for Boy Scouts on the whole.

I made it as far as Life before I lost my focus. If I'd known then what I know now...

In one Zeta at one time as a percentage?

We had 7 out of 30 or so.

Including me.

And that was as BERKELEY!!

And just a bronze palm here

However, both I and my big brother are Vigil Honor members of OA.

Two Vigils and we were roommates, too.

Irony

John:
The irony is immensely apparent now :) I am also a Vigil Honor member...as is my big brother....lets see....were you a Lodge Chief or Founders' Award Recipient?

Are you still involved in Scouting? I have some friends out your way that are still involved...

Nope

Never was a Lodge Chief and the Founder's Award didn't exist then.

I have my hands full as High Pi. I'm not active in the program.

It is unfortunate, but here in Orange County, Scouting is now church based, to the tune of 85+% of the units. Here in Orange you need to be a Mormon to be welcomed as a Commissioner. I was named Roundtable Commissioner and I lasted about four months before I became fed up with it.

The local council is not the same one that I came out of in '74, and worked for for a couple of summers after that. Church affiliation is most important now, as is an agreement to not disagree with any National policy. That may well be the doing of the local Council Exec, but I really don't care. I have a limited amount of time and LXA seems to be far more appreciative than Orange County Council.

Also an Eagle Scout with 3 palms, Brotherhood in OA. I am from Phi Theta Zeta, UNC Greensboro. There was always a contingency of Eagle Scouts in my chapter.

Brian, welcome to GC. Keep posting and having fun with Brothers from all over.

Some of us are a little off center, but I am Normal, normally speaking!:D

? have You Brothers been working with the Colony at NC A & T?

Great bunch of New Brothers there, do give any help if you can!!

Crescent182 02-21-2005 06:48 PM

I have met a few of them. I haven'y had the honor of working with them though. I know they are in good hands with Dr. Cliff, as he was High Pi for Phi Theta when I was an undergrad. I am just getting back into touch with my chapter, after a couple of years hiatus. But I know that my guys do interact rather frequently with A&T, and give counsel and advice as necessary.
