A Gratitude Thread

I've often heard that having a gratitude journal can be very helpful in making a person step back and realize that--all in all--amazing things happen everyday, and its wonderful to be alive.

The way it works is that you list things that happened to you that day that you're grateful for. It can be really big or really small; it doesn't matter as long as you take the time to acknowledge it.

I know this sounds hokey, but work with me! Let's use this thread to help all of us acknowledge the things that we're grateful for. Use it when you're feeling wonderful, or use it when you need a lift. I don't care as long as you use it! I truly believe that when you put your gratitude out into the world, good thing come back to you a million times over.

I'll start. I'm grateful for something I recieved in the mail today. It was completely unexpected and I was so touched by it. It made my entire week. I'm grateful for my dear friend and I'm grateful for the loving thoughts behind the gift. You know who you are. Thank you. :)

I'm thankful I got a new Scholarship Advisor a day after the old one had to resign.

Just got an email from the former Recruitment Advisor whose hubby is in Kuwait or somewhere...he's on his way home!!! Was supposed to be April.

Got an email from Rie about the Southeartern Panhellenic Conf in Atl in April. Sounds like fun with new AGDs I haven't met!:)

I am extremely thankful that my work is so flexible and understanding when I have sick kids and have to call in so often. My vacation time actually went in the hole by having to stay home today, but they will work with me. Phew! Some places would've fired me long ago.

my turn

i am thankful for the most awesome group of sisters that anyone could ask for. if it wasn't for ALL of them i would have never made it through my senior year of college and actually graduated. i have to send an extra bit of gratitude to the ladies in apt 2 that actually had to live with me.....that must have REALLY sucked!

I'm so happy (and thankful!) that you girls liked them! ;)

I'm also grateful that I have a wonderful boss who I can place my trust in. I could not ask for a better mentor!

I am thankful for four of my sisters cooking dinner for my big brother and a few of his brothers tonight and inviting me to tag along....I am thankful for how wonderful they always are to everyone around them.

I am thankful for my brother and his fraternity brothers, who defended me in a serious altercation the other night when a guy got WAY too forward, and to my sisters for being there to support me as I bawled my eyes out. And for my new puppy.

I love my family, both biological and non.

I am grateful for a sister like Maria, who had me literally rolling in happy tears on the couch this morning because of her awesome awesome VDay present. Kalin got a kick out of it too.

And no, I doubt my roommate forgot about Kevin the Banker either! ;)

And I'm also grateful for kick ass sisters like Nic and Marissa -- who I plan to share even more memories with in the months and years to come!

I am so grateful for my sisters who will be there for me when I make both smart and stupid decisions. I love it that they are always there for me, always there to take long walks, always there for a diet coke, always there to smile, and just always there. I'm grateful to be an Alpha Gam and so sad that my time as a collegian is almost over.

I'm also grateful for my family in every way, shape and form (and my mom's undying patience!)

I am thankful for the sisters who are there for you even if you've never met..which seems to be fewer cause I meet more often!!!

Thanks, Maria for the Vcard..it was cute!!! (And yea, I've met Maria, lol).

Thanks, Lee:) Definitely know her, too!!

To our wonderful President, Connie! She sent a terrific letter thanking all the advisors for their hard work. (Unless I can order more, I might have advisors fighting over the Inspire the Woman, Impact the World post-its she sent!;) ) Met her at Convention as we yakked for hours:cool:
