V-Day gift for....not girlfriends.

I would like some other ladies suggestions for what to get a girl that I'm not dating...but we are 'something'. I don't want to go all out and buy something that will say more than I want it to say...but I do want to get her something nice.

More than a friend, but less than girlfriend or even exclusiveness.

?

If you can figure out can you tell me what to get the not-boyfriend that I'm exclusive with? :p

TxAPhi 02-07-2005 02:04 PM

depends on where it is going

do you want to stay "buddies" for the near future and keep her guessing?

then get something like a framed movie poster of the favorite movie you have seen together or her favorite movie:

do you want to keep it even keel, status quo?

something classy from Red Envelope says I like you a lot:

if you think you may want more in the future?

get a more traditional romantic gift, but something smaller and low key: a nice piece of jewelry that complements something she wears often or looks great in --- will show you put a lot of thought in it. we love thoughtfullness even if you are not commiting ;)

Don't want to order online, or you want to see it in person to check the quality? Do a simple google search for "gift shops in (your town here)"

jharb, I feel ya! I have a not-boyfriend who I'm exclusive with. I was thinking a CD I know he wants and a hat from a team we both love. Good luck!

I think that even though it's overdone, a teddy bear and chocolates are still cute. Or you can get her a movie or CD or something like that, if you don't want it to be too Valentine's Day-ish. Or just taking her out to dinner is nice, too.. although I know from experience that every freaking restaurant in Morgantown is packed around Valentine's Day.

I like the idea of maybe flower's (not roses) and maybe dinner.

For a guy, I would want a dvd or something along those lines. I always like when girls buy me clothes...b/c I have no sense of style and need all the help I can get.

Need advice:

I've been "talking" to this guy for the past couple of months but we're definately not official, haven't even had that talk. Heck, he doesn't ever even call me. But anyway, he just moved into his first house (that he built with his own two hands!) and I'm thinking I could get him this DVD he's been talking about really wanting, but I don't want to weird him out. Thoughts? I could pass it off as a housewarming gift, too.

If someone didn't call me, I would not be buying him a gift.

If a guy wants you, you'll know

Haha, I guess that does sound kinda pathetic, doesn't it? I'm glad that I didn't order it because when I left work last night I called my sister and she talked to his brother (I know, so Jr. High) and anyway, I'm giving up.

I always made excuses for him not calling me before, I live 2 hours away and see him when I go home, but he could still call to see how I am, right? But he always talks to me when I call and asks me to do stuff. And, I'm not sleeping with him.

He's dumb.

Wait, is this the whole "he's not into you guy" from that other thread in November?

Yes. I guess I'm the dumb one, huh?

You probably shouldn't buy her a 200 dollar Coach purse and then break things off with her a week later.................kinda sends the wrong signal. Not that I'm speaking from experience........
