Is vagina a dirty word?

A thread here was deleted the other day because it contained a picture of a CAR.

On the bonnet was a vagina, faithfully painted. Yet the thread was deleted. Is GreekChat so misogynistic as to think the vagina is something that must be removed from sight immediately and never mentioned? It is no wonder some women are ashamed of their bodies with patriarchal attitudes like that. Show your support and stand up against it!

Correct. :) I didn't want to be didactic though and wanted it to be understood. But you are right and thank you for your support of the thread and its message!

There's nothing "misogynistic" about GreekChat. A better word would have been "puritan." If a similar picture was posted featuring male genitalia, it probably would have been deleted too.

Maybe, maybe not. Threads discussing that have been removed before though. If an image was posted featuring male genitalia in an aroused state then I imagine it would be deleted. But the humorous car picture was just an illustration. The thread title included the words 'NOT work safe' as a safeguard for everyone. It was not sexual in nature. What a shame another opportunity to tackle prejudice was quashed!

fanny means vagina not bum outside of the USA.

Don't go looking for a fanny pack in Australia.

Or go rooting for your favorite team, either. And "sod" doesn't necessarily mean grass for your backyard down under.

I'm sorry, but I always just thought of the words "penis" and "vagina" as the terms denoting the male and female genitalia. What are we supposed to do, run whenever we see the words or replace them with "pee pee" and "wee wee". :)
