Rae Rae gone Bye Bye
I was just wondering what the opinions were about Rae Carruth's (spelling) sentencing. He was given an all expenses paid round trip, after 19 to 24 yrs with about only one year "timed served", vacation to no less than a medium security prison for three charges including conspiracy http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/eek.gif.
Unfortunately, he beat the murder rap, which would have given him the Death Penalty. Personally, I feel he got what he deserved. Shareka Adams lost her life and he still has his, imprisoned or not. How do all of you feel about this? [This message has been edited by Bobby Earl (edited January 23, 2001).] |
Even though Rae is still physically on this earth, Ms. Adams is still "better off" than he is. For those of us who believe in eternal life, know that our stay here is only temporary and those who are left are here to "suffer", if you will. So I think that Rae should have to "suffer" and will "suffer" for what he has done. Everyday will probably be a living hell for him. Now, he has to take responsibility for his actions. No longer can he use his "status" to "get over". It's a new ball game now. And, I am sure his time in jail will not be a "piece of cake".
Out of this tragedy, there is something positive, there is a child. Ms. Adams now, can "live through" this child and if nurtured correctly, will be able to become a "productive" person. This is my honest opinion... http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/wink.gif |
Thank You AKA2d91...
That was truly riveting and inspiring. http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/tongue.gif You are right, though. Many people in the "Lime Light" often get over. I don't see why brothers and sisters think they can do this. I don't care how much money you have, you still have to walk a tightrope in this country. Ask Oprah, Michael Jackson and Jordan, Jesse Jackson, and many others. They had to find out the hard way. http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/eek.gif Rae Rae should and will suffer for his crime! |
I have to agree with AKA2D '91, he will get his. When he stands before his maker, he will not have his high priced defense attorney. Even Brother Chochran couldn't get him off in that court.

It was truly a tragegy if there ever is one. Regardless of people's opinions of Cherica's motives in hanging with athletes, etc., she didn't deserve this from a man who'd seemingly indicated he would be comfortable doing this type of crime to the mother of his other son. The guy showed up at the hospital after Cherica was shot with another of his girlfriends! http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/eek.gif. Frankly, after reading the background and testimony from this trial, it seems Rae got lucky...at least here on Earth. Others may have sympathy for him, but it's hard for me to find any for him at this time. May he find repentance and salvation. ------------------ Finer Womanhood: the "Cat's Meow" Since 1920 |

My Sister AKA2D '91 - "We Live to Die!" Unfortunately, the hands of a pathetic man took Ms. Adams' life.
I am actually pissed at the outcome of the trial and the entire process: 1. My state spent more than $125,000 to defend a former millionaire. Let my ass go to jail and see how much they spend on my defense; 2. The child has Down Syndrome. Ray Ray can't provide financial assistance for the reminder of the child's life to cover medical expenses; 3. The grandmother that has custody of the child says she wants the child to know who his father is. Well, how do you explain to a special needs child his father killed his mother; 4. When these dumb dumb athletics father love children why don't they pursue endorsements, work part time or something much like I would if I had a responsibility I could not afford. 5. Ray Ray's mother turned him in. I want to know if she received the reward money. She comes across as a money hungry and insists that her baby had no part in this mess. If she rec'd money then she should fork it over to the grandmom that has custody. |
I think Rae Carruth got what was coming to him and if it wasn't for the shooter getting a deal he would have gotten the death penalty. I just don't understand why he would kill someone just because he didn't want to pay child support, he should have been using some protection when he went to have sex with all thise ladies.

I'm glad that he got some time, but I don't feel it was enough. What he did was horrible, and that makes no sense. What was going on in his head? If his mother turned him in, and then turned around and said she felt like he was innocent, apparently she has issues as well, and obviously the boy has NO home training...
