Please excuse the crash!

I've got several of the Social Greek books, having made numerous pictures for myself, my daughters, and their friends, and all turned out great. Even if you aren't farsighted, though, you might want to get a magnifier if you're going to do some of the larger flowers. In all the sorority flowers I've done, they use a lot of very similar colors and you'll go half blind trying to keep up.

I have that pattern book and it is great!! The most popular thing I've done is a small hand towel that I put ivy and lily of the valley on. Our Denver Alum group has a make it, bake it, sew it, grow it auction every November and the two I made went like hotcakes!!!
Let me know how yours turn out.

I REALLY want to learn how to cross stitch. Is it hard to learn? I got a beginner pattern yesterday and I looked at it and was like WTF?

Is there a cross stitching for dummies book or website?

A few years ago, I bought a lovely lily of the valley needlepoint kit. I haven't started it yet because I have negative free time... It's part of a Victorian flowers series by (I think) Classic Designs.

I went online to try to find a picture, and found this website instead:

There are forget-me-nots for Alpha Phi, and lily-of-the-valley for AEPhi (which I may have to buy!) that could easily be adapted for Alpha Phi.

Cross stitch and needlepoint are very easy to learn - I taught myself at age 12. Most kits include instructions for all stitches necessary to complete the project.

The only one I know about is crossstitch.about.com and from what I have seen it is pretty good. And no cross stitch is not hard, once you get the basics all you have to do is follow instructions. it is very non-cerebral!!

There is a dummies book for *everything.* I got one for knitting, although I never really learned. Cross stitching sounds like fun, but I have to learn to knit and sew first.

Hey Meg!

I saw that you asked your question back when GC wasn't registering responses and bumping up threads, so no one ever knew you asked a question.

Not sure if there is a book with a compilation of A*Phi designs, but that would be a good idea for someone to put together. Perhaps for a fundraiser?

Here are a few options to add to the ones previously suggested above:

Sorority Specialties Crest Cross Stitch
