Women: would you trust your man to take birth control. Men: would you take it?

This was a question that popped into my head with my birth control rant in Chit Chat:

Women, would you trust your man/a man to take birth control pills?

Men: would you want to take them?

Discuss :)

My boyfriend and I had talked about this before, he's all up for taking bc for guys. So as you can tell I'd trust him to take it.

Hell no!!!

Depends on the man. Some men I would trust. My boyfriend, unfortunately, is not one of them. I'm surprised that he remembers how to get himself dressed in the morning nonetheless take maintenance medication everyday. Seriously the most forgetful person I have ever met....

I've never been in a relationship where this wasn't completely discussed and decided prior to intimacy.

If he's not willing to take his share of responsibility, why bother? He's already proven that he's not mature enough to be a man.

This thread regards birth control PILLS for men, not contraception in general.

It's my responsibility. As great as my partners have been about contraception, I'm the one who would be pregnant.

Since they are not the ones getting pregnant....Hell no!

Yes I would.

I just saw a report on this yesterday. Scientists are testing pond scum because it has a similar make up to semen.

The report struck me because the catch line before the report was "Men and Pond Scum... they have more in common than you think..."

Oh really?

As far as BC for guys... depends on the boyfriend. My current bf... I think he would be responsible with medicine to remember. My last bf... no way in HELL would I trust him with taking pills every day.

As far as Mr 33, yes I would. Considering he freaks if he forgets his vitamins and is VERY scrupulous about taking them every day. This would just be another pill on the pile.

Men in general...NWIH!!

I know a lot of guys who hit it with jimmy hats even if the chick is taking the pill.

You never know what she might be up to.

You might be bagging chicks left and right or not commiting and the next thing you know she's preggers and wants to lock you in like an interest rate on your mom's mortgage.

One of my male friends once said the same thing, that committed relationship or not, he's never done it without a condom because he didn't want there to be any doubt that he wasn't responsible for a pregnancy.

There are meds you can take - like antibiotics and St John's Wort - that can screw up the effectiveness of your BC pills. Lots of girls don't know that.

Exactly.

By the way, can you refer to them as jimmy hats and not condoms?

No way would I trust a man to take BC. Since it's my body that has to go through the joy of pregnancy, I will be in charge of the birth control.

PS - Anyone else notice that GC is abuzz with preggo/birth control discussions today?
