the dryer is blue!

I swear I didn't do anything! I just put jeans in the dryer as usual, and now it is blue inside.

It's kinda light.. but still noticable.... I probably wouldn't care if it was my own dryer, but since it's not, is there a way I can change it back to white? :(

My sister came to visit me over the weekend and complained of the same problem. The repairman was at her house for an unrelated problem with the dryer and she asked him and said there wasn't anything they can do.

Maybe that's why the inside of a dryer used to be dark, I remember my mom's was like gray or something.

I think its ironic that I've heard about this problem twice within three days and had never heard it before.

:( i really feel bad... i'm hoping the socks in the dryer will make it lighter :(

i tried scrubbing with a plain wet sponge and it is sort of going away but there is still a slight hint of blue... and there is a dark blue circle that I can't reach because of the dryer door :(

just paint it white before you move out. :D

Why don't you leave it empty, put in tide, and use hot water and then run it?

And who puts jeans in the dryer??? I can't believe it.

hehehe... hot water in a dryer?

it's my boyfriend's dryer... I don't think he'll mind, but since it's not mine, I just feel bad for some reason... hehehe

Shows you how much I know about laundry huh?

OK Well try these things:
1) alcohol
2) milk

I don't know if it will work and if it's a good idea, but perhaps oven cleaner? Oven cleaner cleans everything. Sometimes if you see a fly, you can even kill it with oven cleaner. And if you have dishes with caked on food, again, oven cleaner.

And on TV they have these steam spraying things for sale. I always thought it would be funny to use that on a friend but I bet it would clean the dryer well.

Interesting.

Try using one of those Mr. Clean Magic Erasers. Those work on EVERYTHING!

texas*princess 02-01-2005 04:58 PM

hmmmm a magic eraser.. that sounds promising....

*runs off to the store*

I think anyone can do anything if you have oven cleaner, a can of lysol, and duct tape. If you have ever wondered how MacGyver and the A-Team came up with solutions so fast, it was because of these 3 objects.

I've even heard that if you spray oregano with oven cleaner, you get marijuana. I don't know how true that is, but it shows you how oven cleaner is such an elementary substance in today's world.

AXiD670 - the magic eraser worked! thanks for the suggestion :)

DeltAlum 02-01-2005 06:48 PM

Darn. I was going to suggest putting a translucent, salmon color gel over the opening. That would filter out the blue color and make the inside look white.

You don't believe me, do you?
