Need Ideas/Help

My school has a very small greek system with only 3 sororities. We just had formal recruitment end on Friday with quota being 9. The problem is 2 chapters made quota and the other chapter did not match anyone! That also means 1/3 of the ladies that went through were left bidless! Because this happened Panhel has given the 3 sororities the task of comming up with ideas to prevent this from happening again as both the one sorority and many pnm's were left heartbroken. Any ideas/ thought os this one, as my chapter is at a loss for ideas.

Thanks for all your advice and help

I'm assuming we're talking NPC here (apologies if this is a bad assumption)...

Is your campus Panhellenic in touch with their NPC College Panhellenic Adviser? This is a volunteer from one of the 26 NPC member groups who is on her group's delegation to NPC and serves as an adviser for several campuses' Panhels. Visit the NPC website, College section to find out who it is, if they are not in immediate contact with her. She will want to know of this situation and should be very helpful in coming up with solutions/alternatives.

Do not hesitate to contact her!

Best of luck. It's a good sign that your Panhel realizes this is an issue for all 3 groups and wants to be collaborative in solving the issues.

I am by no means a rush specialist, so I have no idea what can be done to successfully curb this problem.

Did the 1/3 of the girls who were left bidless only sign the bid cards for one of those two sororities that did make quota (and therefore not get matched)? Were they cross cut?

Can the one sorority that did not make quota possibly have informal recruitment and maybe invite the 1/3 to see if they might be interested in greek life with them?

Maybe there should be campus-wide Panhellenic PR to increase the number of pnms for formal recruitment?

Maybe the campus Panhellenic should consider one of the other "styles" of recruitment since it is a smaller school?

ETA: I also want to echo Janerz's suggestion on contacting the Panhellenic delegate!

Best of luck !
