Buying A New Car!!!

I'm buying a brand new car!!! I have no idea what kind I want to get. Maybe an SUV. I don't want anything too huge, and it has to be semi-safe because I don't want to die in it if I crash. So...if you guys could buy any car, what kind would you get?

I'm the kind of chick who has to have an SUV. I haul around my dogs all the time, plus the kids I babysit for, and I like to have something that I can use to move back and forth btwn apts and home and not have to rent a U-Haul.

I haven't ever had the finances to buy a brand new car. My first car was a 1997 Jeep Cherokee which I loved! It was pretty safe. I hydroplaned and wrecked, but had I been in any other car i would have died.

I now have a 1995 Ford Bronco (the big body style). its not the safest car and its a total gas hog but I love it!

Unless you absolutely need a large SUV I would recommend getting a car.

if you don't want a huge suv like an expedition, there's like nissan pathfinders and infinti qx4's. the qx4 is really nice.

i'm also a fan of the nissan murano and the infiniti something that looks like the murano.

I love the Pontiac Vibe. Roomy like an SUV, rates pretty well in safety tests, better gas mileage than an SUV and handles like a car (I hated my ex husband's SUV because, well, it handled like a truck and I prefer tighter turning, smoother ride)

To me the expidition and the explorer are same in size maybe a tad bit bigger. I feel the same way i want to feel safe and if i was ever in a reallllly bad car accident i want something that big to protect me.

If you have all that hauling around to do i would suggest maybe the explorer.

I think those Cooper Mini Convertibles are just the cutest things! Not sure how safe something so tiny would be, though.

Keep in mind what your payment and insurance or going to be . . ..

Once you hav a substantial payment you will be working just to drive.

Why not buy a car a few years old so that you don't have to suffer the hit of depreciation yourself?

Unless money is no object to you.

Has anyone heard anything about the Chevy Cobalt?

Much to my dismay, my head gasket has gone to poo and I need to get a new car rather than keep putting $$ in my 1996 Corsica.

Can someone recommend a good sedan (i.e. it's gotta be 4 door) or tell me about crappy ones?
