Pi Chapter

I'm a Morehouse student waiting eagerly for the nupes to return to our campus. I've heard an array of stories about when they will return and when there will be a line. I've wanted to be apart of this organization as long as I can remember so I know alot of history. I also know why Pi chapter was suspended in the first place. With all these things known, you can see how the return date of the nupes has been eating away at me. If you could please tell me when they will officially return and when will they possibly have another line?

Brown Blackness, I don't know when the Nupes at Morehouse will return. Even if I did, I wouldn't tell you. You shouldn't worry about that. And actually it's a fraternity matter, and since you're not a member it's of no concern to you. My advice to you is, just make sure that your shit is tight so that whenever they come back on campus you'll be ready. Just keep your eyes and ears open. And another thing, slow down son! Good things come to those who wait. And if your heart tells you that Kappa is the way to go, there's always membership through an Alumni Chapter.

My frat brother is right. Worry about your grades and achieving, and less about what GRAND Pi is doing. When and if it comes, all will know.

Thanks for the advice. I have one more question though. Could you and any other nupe go into detail as far as what I could be doing now to make sure my shit is tight when GRAND PI returns?

Truthfully speaking, if you don't know then you'll never know. If you've done your research, you'll come upon a list of Great Men who founded the organization and ones who have since been brought into this illustrious bond. Take a look at them, and you'll know what you need to do. Like my frat said, worry about your grades and acheiving.

What's the deal with PI chapter nupes? I've heard all these stories about pledging Viper after you "cross the sands." Word is, these cats act like they are the Alpha chapter.

I truly have no beef with any of these kat’s interested in our fraternal clan but damn…I remember waiting for 3 yrs to get down and even taking classes Nupes were in to meet these dudes. Not saying that things should be like that today…but real talk Nupes if you had the internet and all of the resources these dudes have...how different could things have been. So instead of hitting up Nupe Chat groups and talking to random brothers online…try introducing yourself to bruh’s at your school, around your area or local alumni chapters who could actually help you on your journey. (Sorry so wordy)

LOL@this thread being created in 2000. My brother was on the line that the guy was waiting for. I wonder if he made the line.

Pi I need help!

Yo, I am a nupe from EP and know a bright young man that wants to attend Morehouse. The only thing stopping him from applying is there is no Kappa Alpha Psi Chapter. My question is can he cross pledge at Ga state or another undergrad school while attending Morehouse or can the Atlanta Alum Chapter pledge him? Are there any brothers at Pi that transfered from other schools who could pledge him? How long oh Lord will we let the best and brightest go non-HBCU becuase they happen to still have an active chapter?

It seems that if you are a "Nupe" you would know the answers to your questions.

And I don't think the best and the brightest chooses their choice of college based on what fraternities or sororities are there--at least I hope not except as a tie-breaker.

I vote that he is knot a knupe.

(And I can't lie....if my school didn't have a Delta chapter, it never would have been my school. LOL)

Let me first apologize to the community if I approached the subject of cross pleading in such in nonprofessional terms. I should have not taken for granted that somebody who subscribes to this site would have given me an uncomplicated answer to such a multifarious question. Nevertheless, The question of when will the Pi chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Inc. return to Morehouse is just one of the factors of my young friend’s deciding progression. Now I cannot speak for the young man about why he places Fraternity so high on his list but I can speculate. It might be he would be the fourth generation of Kappa men in his family. It might be that he has weighed the benefits of attending Howard, Tuskegee, Morehouse, and yes, Emory and all have their strengths and weakness. It might be that he understands Cornel West’s critique; “West expresses nihilism as "the profound sense of psychological depression, personal worthlessness, and social despair widespread in Black America. Nihilism exists in black communities and causes a loss of love and hope, which can be the destruction of individuals, and the young man wants to be part of the solution, and not a victim of the condition, by developing a true sense of identity that fraternal organizations provide, especially my beloved Kappa Alpha Psi. In closing, I would not be true to my bond, the testimony of 19 weeks on-line, and being a former chapter Pole, by not being somewhat lamented about folks questioning the validity of my claim. In loving response, all I can say is, “ Many are Called, Few are Chosen, (and some of you don’t have a damn clue!)
