So I was threatened today....sorta...

This is just now kinda funny about what happened around an hour ago. I was given a note by a nameless woman in our school's foodcourt.

It said, "Have you ever heard? WHAT COMES AROUND GOES AROUND? If you continue to make fun of people lass fortunate than you, something really bad will happen and distort DISTORT your pretty face or maybe dismember your legs....than you will be short - "like a midget"!!! My first son was a midget and died at 2 months. My second son is 18 yrs old and a model for Abercrombie! Count your blessings and talk a little quieter so not to hurt others. - Lady from Lunch Room!

Here's the backstory, my friends and I were just sitting in there talking and messing around when we started talking about spring break and Jamaica. Well, I mentioned that D and I were talking about getting married there and then we started talking bachorlette parties and all. I mentioned that I wanted a midget (yes I know this word is wrong to say) stripper at mine and then A started on midget porn for a little bit, when M said that that she couldn't understand why they were "stubby", or something like that. The entire conversation lasted a big ole 2 minutes at the max.

Well, we went on to various topics and when I had turned around for something this Lunch Lady goes and slams this note in front of ME. I didn't even notice until one of my girls said something about it, of course we read it and we were pretty surprised. I mean, we didn't say anything really "mean" (well, except for M, but that's pushing it) yet she puts it on me like I was the cruelest person in the world.

However, she did call me pretty so I guess the note wasn't all that bad. ;)

--There is now a special place in Hell for me now I guess, heh.

Wow.

Well, I mean...isn't that par for the course at Rio?? Those are, after all, the same ladies who serve that weird chicken/broccoli/cheese thing that I, to this day, have not figured out the actual identity of... :p

Rio_Kohitsuji 01-27-2005 11:22 PM

Senusret- You're telling me..

Dana-- Gotta love it...I guess...oh..if you eat there again..don't eat the "subs"..they're not safe either, heh

On a side note, I have decided since our conversation certainly hit a sour note with her, if I do have the opportunity to see her tomorrow I will apologize for the group to her. The rest of the girls are too afraid to say anything to her about it, so I'm just going to do it, hopefully she'll then realize that we didn't mean to actually be "mean" like she had thought we did.

I think that's a good idea...I mean, it's probably a good idea to make nice with the people who serve your food. :p It really doesn't sound like what you said was bad, but some people just tend to take things personally and get their panties in a bunch.

always take special care of secretaries, janitors and cafeteria ladies....
then they take care of you.

Not to be insensitive (such a wonderful opener to a post) but what business is it of this lunch lady to get offended by a conversation not even meant for her to be a part of. She overheard midget and cries, "Death to all evil sinners!" Yea, her son died at 2 months supposedly, but was that your business and were you aware of it?

If you ask me, her note was more out of line then your comments. Apologizing to her just condones her nosy actions. Take the note and call the cops. Apparently according to florida, you can be arrested for putting threats on paper, whether a stick figure or a reference to dismemberment.

I swear we need to reinstate social hazing for the population.

in the words of many a person "fuck that bitch"

ShaedyKD 01-28-2005 01:17 AM

Kayla, I think this lady should have minded her own business. It is very sad that her son passed away, but she has no right to threaten you. Maybe she's been watching too many of those "Imagine the Power of One Voice" commercials or something! It's fine if she maybe wanted to say "The politically correct term is ________, I'd appreciate it if you wouldn't call them midgets." Or else she could have done what her mama always told her: If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all!

That's funny that you mentioned this. I was talking to my mom earlier tonight, and she said that two kids at my brother's school (Palm Bay HS in Brevard County) got arrested today for supposedly drawing graphic, threatening pictures. Allegedly they depicted the death of other students who were drawn as stick figures and had their names written underneath. I looked for a news story on this, but couldn't find one.
Check the news & politics forum- it's there

that note sounds like those forwarded chain email messages with dimestore insight. mark it as spam and return it to lunch lady land.
