I'm so confused!!!!

Sorry this is a really long post. I was wondering if anyone could help me. I'm trying to fill out this online form and I have to put down my chapter's officers. However, for some of them, I don't know what position to enter, because we use different names.

Since we're not in Panhellenic, we use a lot of different titles and some of these positions, we don't even have. I know there's probably some variation by schools, but I was wondering if someone who is more familiar with the titles used by Panhellenic could help me out. I really wish they would let me write the positions in, but I can only choose the positions they have listed.

Basically, I still need to fill out the sisterhood chair, the social chair, the academic chair, and sergeant at arms. Do you think sisterhood chair would be considered "director of membership development", "VP membership", or "VP foundations"? Would academic chair be considered "scholarship chair" or is that position for organizations that have a scholarship program? Would social chair be considered "director of external events" or "social awareness officer" (or is "social awareness officer" related to community service)? And would sergeant at arms be considered "director of adminstration"?

These are all the options they gave me:
director of administration
director of advertising and marketing
director of alumnae relations
house manager/housing chair
director of COB
director of external events
treasurer
director of house management
new member educator
director of membership development
director of rituals
scholarship chair
fundraiser chair
greek sing chair
historian
housing chair
panhellenic chair
parliamentarian
philanthropy chair
president
recruitment/intake chair
ritual chair
secretary
social awareness officer
sophomore member of honor board
treasurer
vice president
vice president of chapter operations
vice president of marketing
vice president of membership recruitment
VP external
VP foundations
VP programming coordinator
VP new member coordinator
VP membership
VP of recruitment
VP programming
VP social standards
VP finance

Is there a choice for "other?"

My guess:
director of external events or
VP programming coordinator - Social Chair

But everything else I'm not sure about because we have similar chairs as you do.

I would say that

Membership Development or Scholarship is Academic

Sergeant at Arms could be Parlimentarian (keeps meetings on track or something like that?)

Social is External Programming

Sisterhood is Internal Programming or something along those lines. You could even do this as Membership Development if you wanted.

Social awareness/standards would be your risk management chair/committee

Those are just a few of my ideas.

I don't know fully what your particular position do, but prehaps this will help.

"sisterhood chair" what does this position do? promote your membership program (ie getting people involved with the chapter?), could be VP membership. Or it could be director of membership development if its about developing the sisters.

"social chair" sounds like this position is responsible for organizing social events. Could be VP of programming. I don't think ""director of external events" or "social awareness officer" would work, unless your social chair puts on events for non-members. No idea what social awareness would be.

"academic chair" I assume tries to promote academic standards. Frankly, from your choices, "scholarship chair" is the closest.

"sergeant at arms" closest would be parliamentarian. SAA keep order in a meeting and many times provide info on parliamentary problems.

Hope this helps

:o

Just what form are you trying to fill out and for whom???

Depends on who it is about whether you really want to divulge that information.

Remember, Ident. Theft is a big thing now.
