jessica simpson's dessert....worth the bucks?

Yay insomnia!!

Anyway, I was at my boyfriend's friend's house (who is a girl) and she had some of Jessica Simpson's Dessert laying out (the whipping cream). All of my guy friends (even my gay guy friends!) seem to touch everything and ask questions about everything and so he picked it up and naturally asked what it was. She explained what it was and he totally just put it in his mouth like the little kids guys are at heart. haha. Anyway, he said he thought it was really, really good (it was Juicy flavor, which I think is strawberry?). I never particularly liked the taste of it (i felt like it tasted too artificial), but i have no objection to...well yeah. ha.

I was wondering, what do you guys think of it? Is it sticky if you wear it? If it is, should I just buy the lip gloss and wear it when I'm with him? If I don't buy it soon, since we're in a long distance relationship during the school year (I leave to go back to school in a little less than two weeks), I thought it might be a cute surprise for Valentine's when we get to see each other.

Anyway yeah...what do you girls think of it? It seems awfully overpriced, so I'm not going invest in the whipping cream AND lip gloss. Also, is it sold anywhere cheaper? I've seen it at Icing and I'm a cheap make up girl (expensive purses and clothes...cheap shoes and make-up! ;)...like the lip gloss I wear is between $1 to $2.50. So naturally I find $21 for lip gloss extremely steep. If not, I guess I'll shell out the money, but ugh. Jessica! ;)

It's too expensive. And guys are not impressed by that crap.

Munchkin03 01-17-2005 10:23 AM

It seems really high school.

Just go to your friendly neighborhood porn shop and get some of the whipcream w/the aphrodiac stuff in it (yeah, I know, I butchered the spelling.. :) ). It's only around $12 and you'll get more out of it, hehe ;)

Is the Tutti Dolci line at B&BW similar to this? 'Cause I got one of their lipglosses for free and it rocks! :)

The sad thing about her idea is that there are a bunch of different alternatives to "Flavored" lip glosses and lotions and whatnot. I've bought lip gloss from Bath and Body, and the lotions are nice, but I just think smelling like a bakery wouldn't be much of a turn on.

Of course, Bonne Bell has been making flavored lip balms for YEARS and they still work wonders at $2.50 a pop.

See I liked the Chocolate Fondue... just not everything else. :)

I ended up with a couple coupons for free products with the purchase of another. I've bought four total, but 3 went to Christmas gifts.

I like the Tutti Dolci line for lip gloss, but one of the reporters at work uses it and she smells like a baking cake... it makes everyone hungry and it's kind of an odd smell for a person.

Personally I'd never use a product made by one of the Simpsons.... look at the music they turn out  I can't imagine their products being any better or worth the money since their CDs clearly aren't

I have the angelfood cake one..but I agree with chideltjen about smell like bakery item being a turn-off.. I got it for Christmas from my parents.. my mom was really proud of it. :p

I do like how its shimmery though.. it looks cute when used in (light) moderation.

um, not to sound rude, but didn't i say he really liked the taste of it? i wasn't a fan of it before he started talking about it. Sorry.

norcalchick 01-17-2005 05:06 PM

ick. it's too atrificial and waaayyyy over priced. i heard the lip glosses suck.

what i don't get is that it's supposed to be for adults. but if you go into sephora or somewhere, there's a bunch of tweens wanting it and trying it.

IrishPhiSig 01-17-2005 05:16 PM

i think it tastes really artificial too, which is why i'm kind of steering away from the lip gloss. $21 for make up that doesn't have the name "Dior" or "Chanel" on it is not kosher.

but my boyfriend is like in love with it. He went over to her house the other day and he said he was putting it on and eating it again and she was getting really pissed. He'll eat anything I guess...so maybe I should try something cheaper...but if he really likes this?

I think the tweens want it because it has "Jessica Simpson" on it. Teens this days love anyone who's blonde, pretty and dumb as a box of rocks! I hope no one's licking it off of them!
