WHEN do you want to get married??

Meaning, time of year, not what year!

Ive always wanted to get married a few days before Christmas, with the church all decorated with the poinsettias and advent candles, etc.

I dont know if thats fair or not though, to have a wedding so close to the holidays....

Being from a cold climate, I wouldn't want to marry in the late fall, winter or early spring. It sort of limits where you can take photos! I think I'll probably go for an August or early September wedding.

I got married in the summer.

I would have preferred to get married in the spring - April or May (not June) - but we also wanted to wait until my husband was done with school, which was that June, and I wasn't about to wait for the following May to roll around :p

In the late spring/early summer, primarily because I want an outdoor wedding. Although, Kansas is soooo windy everyday of the year, it probably won't be outdoors anyway. lol

I would LOVE to get married in the fall (like September), but my fiance and I are both teachers. So, we're marrying in July.

....

I know what you mean. I think it would be cool to get married at Easter time with all of the Easter lillies. I just love Easter lillies.

I always wanted a fall wedding preferably in October but we will end up getting married on December instead. It's all good though. The main thing is our commitment to each other & not the date.

Friends have told me that I should get married in the winter (they like to joke that I'd get married on Valentine's Day), but I think I'd like to get married in the fall - maybe around the beginning of October (if I can find somewhere in So Cal where the leaves change colors ;))

Not sure when the bride wanted to get married, but our family friend had his wedding a week before Christmas. It was absolutely beautiful. The bridesmaids dresses were red, and the band (same we had for my brother's wedding) does costumes and during dinner they were in Santa's helper costumes singing Christmas songs. It was awesome. The groom is a cement worker, and during his speech he goes "And I wana thank Jessica, for marrying me in December". It was cute and you had to be there. He doesn't talk much in public and when he does he's soft spoken so it was really cute.

First week of summer.........being a teacher, I want to spend the entire summer vacation honeymooning........:D before I have to go back to the little darlings.

Good luck with that in SoCal... There is not too much foliage that can change colors like other states during autumn. But you can still have a beach wedding at The Wedding Bowl in La Jolla, California if you can win it in the lottery... You need a permit to have the location corded off for your event...

But NorCal leaves change somewhat... And maybe in the mountains of Cali, the leaves have some changes--like the oaks... I never have ever seen the Eucalyptus Trees change colors...

But if you want a "park like setting" in SoCal, not L.A., but San Diego--Balboa Park is extremely beautiful. As well as the large rooms at the San Diego Zoo... And the Casa Del Prado in Balboa... Whew, if only I could have another wedding...

And you can always think of the Pac Northwest for true Autumn leave changing colors...

Oh, I know - it's a pipe dream, but it also depends on the "colors" I have for my wedding :) Growing up here was great - but I *definitely* love the changing seasons of the Midwest!

Not so big on the beach wedding - everyone thinks I'm crazy when I tell them that I used to HATE the beach (but I'm slowly starting to like going there more often :D)

Julian/Cuyamaca might be an option - by the time I get married, they should have some of the trees back from the fires of 2003 (hopefully!)

I LOVE Balboa Park - not sure if I want to get married there, but it's always fun to go walk around (I miss being in school when we'd go on field trips every year to something down in Balboa Park - Zoo, Space Museum, History Museum, etc)

The Pac NW would be wonderful - I just don't know how my family would like that idea

I want to get married in October or December - October to see the pretty fall foliage, December for the holiday decorations.

Odd that not too many people on this thread want to get married in June, the most popular month for weddings!

That's actually why I didn't want to get married in June. I didn't want to be just another June bride. I like to be different.
