Frameable Family Tree
Y'all have helped me with gift ideas before so I really need help this time.
My bro's bday is Feb. 1st. He would like to get a frameable family tree that the names can be filled in, either by him or a professional. Any ideas? |

Style #1 http://www.uftree.com/images/family_...hart_large.gif Style #2 http://misbach.org/charts/9GenerationFanFrame.jpg (available at http://misbach.org/charts/) Style #3 This would be the actual picture of a tree, with the generations on it. You can get those (usually) at most craft or scrapbooking stores. You want to make sure that the paper used is acid-free, same with the pen that's used. There are literally thousands of genealogical sites which sell or let you print out family trees. I would suggest that you go online & look at them first, then order what you think he's like. Don't forget that the bigger it is, the more it will cost for him (or you!) to get framed! There is one site that I can't find right now; I don't dare bookmark it, because I want it all!!! I'll add it, once I find it. Good luck! |
Okay, the motherlode of charts is Fun Stuff for Genealogists. If you can't find what you want there, I don't think you'll find it!

Cute..the family trees are called pedigree charts, lol.
Thanks. |
I've never seen or heard of the fan style but I really like it! I would really love to start working on my family's geneology but I have no time. On my dads side I have a few distant relatives that have researched it thoroughly and published a book (which I don't have but would love to buy whenever I get $60 that I don't have to spend on anything else). I would like to research my moms side so I know where the other 50% of me came from!

My problem is that a fan chart for our family would look very lop-sided! We have my mother's side back as far as 12 generations, but my father's only five. So, for now, I'm sticking to the family group sheet method, and only have one pedigree chart (that goes back six generations - doesn't look quite so bottom heavy!).
I've mentally spent about the next four paychecks on that www.funstuffforgenealogists.com site...! |
