What should I say?????
I'm so glad my friend told me about this site! I have a question. I am planning on transfering from my school now, and I want to rush at my new school cuz being in a sorority seems like a great way to meet tons of new people and form friendships for life!!! I am going to transfer to a private school in california (I am applying to three of them). When I transfer I will be bordlerline sophomore/junior (I will have like 55-58 units depending on the school) What should I say when people ask what year I am. I am definitley going to be there for three years anyways. If I am technically a sophomore, but almost a junior, do I just say sophomore? Also, I have been reading recruitment stories and am feeling a lot better about everything. You guys have so many answers! I'll be sure to post my own recruitment story next fall!

If you are not a junior, don't say you are one. It doesn't matter how close you are to junior status. Think about if you were 6 credits from graduating. Whould you say you are a college graduate?
Good luck with Recruitment. Definitely look into the chapters at whichever school you go to (both the national websites and the local ones) Always better to be prepared! |
do i need to get recs?
I am not a legacy, should I get recs? I have many extra-curricular accomplishments and a very good gpa: 3.9. Will that help me?

I would definitely say you're a sophomore if you're going to be there for three years.
Recs are always helpful, but whether or not you really NEED them depends on the school. I would say that the only school that you might be applying to where they are absolutely 100 percent necessary (especially if you're a sophomore) is USC. Most of the other private California schools have much less cut-throat rushes and recs probably wouldn't be needed. A good GPA and strong extracurriculars will definitely be helpful. |
