Global Dimming
Interesting transcript from BBC:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sn/tvradio/prog...ng_trans.shtml Some of the science at the end is a bit shaky at best (Travis' evidence) but it's an interesting read and a very scary view of the future. - Kappaloo ... Yes dear, the sky is falling ... |
I didn't read the entire thing, there are a few things I noticed though...
If anyone has ever done any research whatsoever on global warming, then they also know that global cooling was also theorized back in the 50s-70's. Hell, scientists promoted that theory as much as scientists today do about global warming. Pan evaporation....well, even a hundred years of measurements isn't a blink of the eye in compared to the age of earth. A hundred years definitly would not hold up in a statistical analysis of the changes. Also, I've always read that when dealing with heat exchange humidity has a LOT more to do with evaporative cooling than sunlight. Basically, the higher the humidity, the less evaporation occurs. At 100% there is little to no evaporation... |
