Do you have different standards for different races of guys/girls?

Wow, I never thought about this before, but yes. I'll try to figure out how to explain it.

What do you mean by "standards"?

Nope.

I expect the same standards (honesty, hard working, respect, treats me well, etc.) from a man regardless of his ethnicity.

Garbage is still garbage, no matter what bag its in.

I have the same standards concerning the way I expect to be treated, regardless of a guy's race/ethnicity...what else are you talking about? Their looks? Their behavior? :confused:

i agree with everyone else......do you have different standards? and if so....WHY...

why should anyone have different stanards based on ethnicity?

I know that's right, sistah friend! When I was single and dating, I expected the same thing, regardless of race. If they were jerks, they could just keep on stepping!

I'm going to chime in on what I think she's asking, as this is what I assumed she meant when I 1st read the question. Please don't take offense to what I'm saying as I'm not trying to stir up controversy.

As we all know certain ethnic groups have traditional characteristics when it comes to looks [yes I know these are generalizations but some can be accurate] different ethnicities of girls may have a big butt, no butt, big lips, no lips, small waist, big waist, small up top, large up top...whatever.

With that in mind I think she's asking if a guy who likes a white girl with no butt would also like a latino girl with a larger butt or vice versa. Or say you like a caucasian girl who is darker skinned [thinking italian] but want an african american girl who is lighter skinned [thinking halle berry] or say you want a real fair skinned caucasian and a dark skinned latino or asian girl.

The other standard is how the other treats you based on a different culture [think how the french men are supposed to be so romantic while american men are brutish or how latino men are supposed to be great lovers; again I know these are sterotypes, I'm just using them as examples]. Do you let the different men get away with more depending on their background?

I was really thinking in terms of appearance -- for example, I tend to most often like white guys or black guys. I tend to like white guys who are tall and have dark hair and light eyes, who don't style their hair and are kind of mellow. Generally if I'm attracted to a black guy, he has a much different sense of style than a white guy I'd find attractive.

I don't know if that makes any sense. I like a white guy who's kind of chill, and a black guy who's part thug part scholar, or something.

I see what you're saying kafromTN, but the answer is still no. I don't let men of one background get away with more that men on another.

Now regarding physical aspects, I would still have to say no. :) Not that I don't have standards, but I'm not attracted only to certain stereotypes of any ethnicity.

I don't have different standards for different races. I like guys who have a neat appearance, who look good dressed up and are well educated. When a guy is hot, he is hot. :D

Ok, to be serious, yes I do have few different standards. I'm not even debating if it is right or wrong, I'm just curious if anyone else does it. kafromTN, your assumption is pretty much right.

Regardless of race (or gender, if I decide to go there one day, lol) one MUST have respect, class, a decent job, and an outgoing personality. But, after those four standards the rest are pretty relative. As an example, looks. Semi-long straight hair on a white guy is attractive in my opinion, but I would be weirded out by a black guy sporting "the al sharpton", lol. Black guys with shaved heads are sexy sexy, but I don't like that look on white guys at all. How I approach guys make a difference too. I don't mind making the first move with most black guys, but I am kind of uncomfortable to make the first move with white or asian guys.
