frustration with the new website
GRRRR
I am so frustrated with the new site. I love the new layout. But I HATE the new member search. Actually I don't mean "hate". Hate is too strong of a word... I dislike the new member search criteria. the problem I'm having is with the "zip code" "within" criteria. The farthest distance you can choose is 100 miles. So that means any person in a chapter outside AZ, I can't search. Cause those chapters are beyond 100 miles. How positively annoying!!!!!!!!! To search for one of my Alpha sisters (who I was really close with) I couldn't just put in her name and chapter because she doesn't live here in AZ. So I had to search through the ENTIRE list of 97 and 98 initiates from Delta Gamma just to find her. GRRRRR. Member search was sooooooo much more user friendly before this. GRRRRR. Sorry just needed to get my frustrations out. I POSITIVELY, ABSOLUTELY ADORE AND LOVE everything about the new website, I just find member search to be so difficult to navigate and actually find sisters information. Has anyone else tried to use it and had problems? or am I the only one? |
I find it odd that they don't personalize it to your chapters history like they did in the old website. I tried searching for sisters in my chapter that I knew were registered from the old website, but I couldn't find them. I think they should make a special place called "My Chapter" with individual mini message board and other features. It would promote the use of pride online and the website in general.

I know what y'all mean - but that's why there's that place to make suggestions on the members page! Make good use of it, and let them know your likes/dislikes. Remember, the website will only be as good as the feedback they receive! Help your sisters out, and let them know your thoughts!!

PiLove, I totally understand. I just searched today and suddenly NO ONE BUT ME is registered for my chapter, yet they were not two days ago. They should totally have a section for the chapters. I mean no offense to ADPi and those workers because they have worked so hard on the site but it seems like since the dumb thing took FOREVER to get up and running that the "kinks" should be "worked out" by now. IMPO. |
Oh, Bri, I TOTALLY understand!!! I'm going to leave my major comments on PO, but in the long run, it's a step in the right direction!

The one thing I have to say is at least you guys can login...
They don't have any type of real tech support setup for times when the system doesn't work... I personally went through and setup a login, but every time I try to login with it, it gives an error saying "Invalid Username." Now I have contacted them about it, but with the holidays and not really seeming to have the tech side of this setup, I cannot do anything... |
I've also noticed which I'm not to fond of on member search is when I type in *Delta Eta* to look for someone who intiiated a couple years ago, it only brings up the girls from my chapter who have signed on to prideonline, Not every initated.
I'm frustratd with this also |
The one thing about the member search is when you go to your own profile you have to specify to allow ADPi to include you in the search. Which stinks because you may be looking for a former chapter sister and she did not want to be included in the search so you cant find her.
EO came up with some online policies awhile back ie the disclaimer on all the chapter websites and having all chapter members sign a release form before putting their pictures on the websites. So now on PO they cant just put your name on their without their permission..guess its all in an attempt to avoid lawsuits. Maybe once more members sign on more people will be included in the search. So far I'm the only one from my chapter when I do a search. I also tried to do a search for local sisters near the fullerton chapter and only 2 women came up! In addition to the search, I'm having a hard time finding forms and information on PO. For example I was looking for the District workshop forms and they turn out on the regular homepage! This new site is much welcomed but will take some getting use to. ETA: I just did another search for chapter sisters and 47 pages came up! Weird yesterday I got nothing! |
You know what HB the same thing happened to me. Just a few days ago (when I found out the site was up) I searched Delta Gamma and my intiation year and all the girls in 98 came up, but now it is back to only me.
Here is my issue. Prior to the new PO the old member search listed all the members, BUT if you WEREN'T a registered user then your information (address, etc...) did not show up. That is how it should be again, impo. I just don't find the new PO very user friendly, agian impo. |
I agree Brianna, they should just list everyone and put your personal info if you want. It'd be nice to see how big the alpha classes are at my good old alma mater after I no longer have any contacts with the active members.
The new PO will definitely take some getting use to for sure. I'm still trying to navigate it and it hasnt been fun. I do like some of the new material they put up there though. Like they have the Master Chapter Profiles for all our chapters up there, makes it so much easier to contact specific people from other chapters if you need something. That would have been so nice when I was traveling cross country with a sister and we were trying to find chapters to stay with. And Honeychile perhaps you can use that to contact the chapters around western PA and Ohio...just a thought. |
Here's what is confusing me.
When the site first came up I could search all of DG and find a bunch of sisters. Yesterday, I was the only one who came up from DG and then I couldn't even search any other chapters. Today, somehow it is "working" again and I can search all the chapters. Can they PLEASE just make up their minds?!? FYI: I was able to find out that one of our famous alums was initiated on my birthday. LOL. HB your right, the site is going to take some time to get used too. I think the problem is that the Fall Adelphean said the website was up and running when it actually wasn't. So now sisters don't even know it's up and running (unless they are dorks like us who were checking all the time cause we had "bets" going on when the site would be up). |
I cant even sign up
I have been unable to even sign up.
I went to the section to enter my basic info and I cant get past member sign up. I have entered everything correctly. First Name * Last Name * Maiden Name * Greek Name of Initiation Chapter * Member Number (XXX-XXXX) * Year of Initiation (YYYY) * And It keeps telling me No match could be found. Please check spelling and Member Number for accuracy I have emailed and they told me what they have as my name and I have been entering that - the same information that they have. I have asked for help more then twice. Anyone have any hints on how to get past member sign up . . . like is it case sensitive or do i need to put the number in specifically. Any help would be appreciated. |
I was having the same problem, first with the old site when I initated and then the other day it kept telling me the same thing.
I ended up emailing the link and about 10mins later, I tried again and I signed on with no problems. That might help. :D |
I mean no offense to ADPi and all the people who worked on the site but these kinks SHOULD HAVE been fixed PRIOR to the site "opening up".
Seriously, they only worked on this site and the new PO for over a year now. |
