"We hope you enjoyed tonight's show folks, and don't forget the moral of the show. Put your troubles away for tomorrow and if you're lucky someone will break into your house tonight and steal them."

-- can't remember where I heard that.

"You can't wait for inspiration, you have to go after it with a club." - Jack London

My PhD proposal is due very very soon, as is a 3500 word paper on the relationship between Giorgione and da Vinci. Argh!

I can't remember exactly how it goes but

"The one who loves you won't make you cry. The one who makes you cry isn't worth your tears".

I wish I could remember that whole quote.

Why? Because my best friend/lil sis was drunk last night (again) and told me that I deserve everything that happens to me. The truth comes out when you're drunk, right?

Silence is golden.

Because I'm super stressed, my head hurts, and all I wanna do is STOP THE DRAMA. Silence would be great.

"Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, champagne in one hand, strawberries in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming WOO-HOO, what a ride!"

Why? I went out with the girls the other night and it made me realize that real memories are made with your best friends on random Monday nights when you have one too many drinks at happy hour, laugh too hard, make sappy toasts, and remember the good old days when you stayed out til 4am and still made it to those 8am classes.

Coramoor 12-28-2004 03:22 AM

I saw this on a shirt the other day.

"Get drunk and be somebody!"

I thought it was funny.

There is nothing either good or bad, but thinking makes it so.
- from Hamlet

My mom sent an email to me with this quote yesterday. It is very fitting because I've been so worried about my upcoming semester and going out in to the real world soon, and the interpersonal issues. This quote makes me think about how much of life is all perseption and how important it is to have a positive attitude.

Dean Martin said that at the close of one of his shows. Frank Sinatra was standing next to him.

"...in this life you can be oh so very smart, or oh so very pleasant. well, i've been both...i recommend pleasant." Jimmy Stewart in the film adaptation of the Mary Chase play, Harvey. it's a nice reminder of what's important to me.

A monk was walking down a path and encountered a samuri. They were friends from childhood, and they both recognized each other, and were happy. After talking for a while the samuri asked the monk "I am tired of my life of war, may I join your temple?" The monk thought for a moment and said "You may, if you can answer me this question....what is the is the sound of one hand clapping?" The samuri instantly replied "10,000 lotus blossoms, of the mind, unfolding." The monk then bowed to his friend.

Maybe our mistakes are what make our fate. Without them, what would shape our lives? Perhaps if we never veered off course, we wouldn't fall in love, or have babies, or be who we are. After all, seasons change. So do cities. People come into your life and people go. But it's comforting to know the ones you love are always in your heart. And if you're very lucky, a plane ride away.
- Carrie Bradshaw, Sex and the City

it's sort of the theme for my life at the current moment.

"Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind dont matter and those who matter dont mind" -Dr. Seuss

Its what I remember when peeps try and get up in my grille.

Cogito, ergo sum -> Rene Descartes

My favorite quotes are:
"The soul would have no rainbow if the eyes had no tears."
- Native American proverb

and

"You may say I'm a dreamer, but I'm not the only one. I hope someday you will join us, and the world will live as one."
- John Lennon, "Imagine"

And here's a random one I just found!
"I thoroughly disapprove of duels. If a man should challenge me, I would take him kindly and forgivingly by the hand and lead him to a quiet place and kill him."
- Mark Twain
