another colony

Just to let you know (so you can update your site), there is also presently a Lambda Chi Alpha colony at San Diego State University (zeta-pi) which will hopefully become a chapter very soon. My longtime boyfriend recently joined it and it seems like a great group of guys.

Hey, thanks for the update!:)

Give Him our Congratulations and try to get Him on G C so He can give us updates.

Color Me green with envy, loved San Diego!:D

Let's try again

We've made several tries at SDSU. Let's hope and pray that we have the right mix of people and magic to make it work, AND MAKE IT LAST.

Should it come to fruition, the Brothers of Phi-Epsilon Zeta would be pleased to conduct the initiation.

How big is the colony at SDSU?

SDSU must be doing well, they seem to have one of the premiere houses at SDSU as a cololny on the school sponsred Aztec Walk. I looked it up on their SDSU website.

I think this incarnation of Zeta Pi will be fine, problems they had 12 years ago when these guys were in 1rst grade wont carry over, that is ridiculous.

Hmm...this was supposed to be a response to the thread about the website with a list of all the chapters, but somehow that didn't happen.:p
I'll definitely pass on the word about GC to the LXA brothers here...I just found this site a couple days ago and it's really awesome that you guys have such an active message board!
As for the size of the colony, I can only give you estimates (I'm sure a bro would be happy to give you their exact numbers)...I think there are around 60 total members right now. I would estimate there are currently about 30ish bros and probably a few more than 30 associate members. I'm told that the AMs will be initiated in mid-January.
The house is really nice. SDSU recently rebuilt fraternity row and somehow LXA was one of the first frats to choose which house they wanted. You can find a picture (not the best pic, but still a picture nonetheless) here.

I think they got it because they are the oldest or one of the oldest fraternities there, they had/have alot of pull and also they have money stockpiled up. They did use to have a huge house doen there for years somewhere.

Tell the SDSU guys to join us online then, and GO CHARGERS!

Jas, do you have a link to the pix of the house?

School web site, did not find.

Thanks,

Tom if you read the post before mine you click where it says HERE and it takes you to a link of the house

Glad to hear SDSU is back. I spent a weekend with those
guys one summer 1987...they were a bunch of "surfer dudes"
...didn't strike me as Einsteins, but the ones there in the
summer were there for summer school....probably not at
the top of the scholarship list.

They thought it was "so neat" that someone from KENTUCKY
was there. "Hey bro look...this dude's from KENTUCKY!"
"Where's Kentucky?", one asked...."between
Oklahoma and Montana!" another retorted! (discovered
he had Kentucky mixed up with Kansas)

"Did you wear shoes before you came to California?"
"Is the grass really blue there?" (well, at least that one knew
SOMETHING about KY! ;) )
"What do you drink there???" ... "Birthplace of Bourbon?!!!!
Mando dude!!"

They took me to the beach (WONDERFUL in SD) and
tried to get me to surf....I decided to stay on the
beach and protect the girls (yeah right).

Needless to say, they were one of the most fun and
welcoming chapters I ever visited....even if they weren't
the sharpest tools in the shed!

The pic on the link above must be a later house....the
one they had in 1987 is the one that's in my Paed. from
the late 80's....just a stucco box with a very large
LXA painted on the side.

I remember that house...1988 I spent a lot of weekend time there when I was in the Navy - very hospitable, and, their little sister rushes were definitely fun.

They had a beautiful cross and crescent inlaid in the cafeteria floor, and the location was perfect.
