So, you can't pay all your bills, but...

You purchase $10,000 in Christmas gifts?

Repo Man Takes Van With Holiday Gifts Inside
Woman Claims Company Won't Return Belongings

BOSTON -- A Wrentham, Mass., family said that it has lost all of its Christmas presents that were in the family's minivan, which was reposessed.

NewsCenter 5's Jorge Quiroga reported that one week before Christmas, Bonnie Corso added up the bad news.

"I had everything hidden so the kids couldn't get to them," Corso said.

Between her kids' holiday gifts, several computers and many, many valuables, Corso said that she had $10,000 worth of goods in her minivan when the repo man made a midnight visit to her home.

"A gentleman came to (the) door (and) said he was there to take the car, and we asked him four times not to take it. We had a lot of stuff in the car. We wanted time to clean it out," Corso said.

Corso said that the repo man didn't have time to wait, so her minivan was towed away with her belongings inside.

"All of our Christmas presents, personal belongings, electronics, work computers -- there was so much stuff in this car. It was our traveling office," Corso said.

Corso and her husband, Mark, owners of a small Marshfield, Mass., deli and e-business, don't deny they were three months late with their car payments. That was the last time they saw the vehicle and all of their goods.

Corso claims the repo company has refused to give anything back. NewsCenter 5 tried to speak with Eagle Recovery and Transfer, and a company spokesman said that the Corsos should hire an attorney to contact the company.

The Corsos said that they've filed a complaint with the North Attleboro Police Department.

It's probably 10k worth of stuff they put on their credit cards.

But why would you leave 10gs worth of ANYthing in your car!?!

Sucks to be them.

Next time, pay your bills.

The company that repossessed the car did not have the right to take the belongings inside of the car since they did not own the items, and were not collecting debt on those items. They should return them as keeping them would be theft.

Maybe there will be a day when it's hard for you to pay your bills, but you aren't going to pawn your computer or ipod. Look around your room: $10,000 of stuff isn't so hard to collect.

I'm in college- that time is now. Balancing out bills, booze and vacations is a fine art.
