Community Service
What sorts of community service activities does your chapter do?
We do.... TGIF Club: We hang out with 5th grade local girls scouts once a month on fridays. Usually we do some sort of a craft and science or math type activity and sing songs. Rockin' it with the elders: We go to the nursing home and play cards and stuff with the elders. House Party: Every year we get together with health pros (on campus health education people), residential life, and other greeks to put on a mock "house party". It's really cool. We have different skits in every room. Guests take a tour of the house and hear interesting facts along the way. It gets pretty life like. I was in a drinking game skit this year. It's also really good PR. We had about 350 people come through the Phi Delta Theta house this year. Raking the town: We go out and rake our neighbors yards. Clothing drive: Every year we have a spring clothing drive. Food drive: Collect canned foods (I think we donated pretty darn near 8,000 cans of food, with the help of the other greek chapters) Haunted house: Not really community service, but good PR. We helped out with the Sigma Nu haunted house. |
*Greek community service week (sponsored by our school).
*Our own philanthropy. *The philanthropies of EVERY other chapter on campus. *Every all-Panhellenic service event. |
