A gift for Dad

Ok, I am having a really hard time thinking what I should get my father. He just got a new house that he needs to decorate, but I have a feeling we have different taste. What are you getting your Dad for the holidays?

My dad wanted golf balls and the Anne Calloway CD...so I got him exactly what he wanted!

If he needs to decorate his new house, why don't you get him a gift card to Lowe's/Home Depot for some light fixtures or garden furniture, or you could get one to a decorating store. Offer to go with him, and then you can spend some time with him, and get his home decorated too!

I'm glad my mom buys my dad stuff and she's it's for me too because I never know what to buy him.

try to get something you know he will use...
the Lowe's gift certificate is a GREAT idea!!!

i know every year relatives give my dad things that lay around..

but the man uses undershirts and socks and around the house clothes more than anyone i know..
he works alot in the garden and aroud the house and he tears up thigns constantly..

sooo i got him a big box of socks and undershirts and some around the house tshirts...its things that he wouldnt normally go get himself since he thinks wearing the same ratty shirt with holes and stains is ok.. :)
but he's got me to get him new ones!! thats what daughters are for right ;)

My dad likes to read and wanted "Five People You Meet in Heaven." So that's what I got him.

However I think the 3 of us (mom, brother and I) are trying to find him a surround sound system for the TV. Especially since our DVD player bit it big time this year.

my dad is rebuilding a 1987 corvette, so he wanted all of "Baby's birth records". My mom found all of the manufacturing documentation including the roll out date of the car. Dad has all sorts of other stuff that goes along with this particular car...except for a mint condition 1987 Corvette calendar, which I have been unable to find despite many an Ebay search. My mom and I went half and half on a tempurpedic pillow for him to help with his back.

My father is impossible to buy for! This year we're getting my folks a DVD player so they can join the rest of us in the 21st century. We're also giving them the special edition of Casablanca on DVD.

Does he like sports? I hear Committed is funny, it's a book about fantasy football, but I guess it's good for anyone who thought they could do a better job at managing. That's what I got for my father.
