Fundraising idea

I have a great idea to raise money. We did this at my school. We started a penny war! This was between the four fraternities that we have. The fraternities are sooo competative so they all wanted to win. We gave the winner a prize. Guys were just throwing in money to try and win. Basically, how it works is that pennies are good and silver and bills are bad. So that means for example...Kappa Sig would throw in all their quarters into ZBT's bucket, so KSig could win. And vice versa. This was easy and lots of fun! We did it for about two weeks.

My high school used to do this as war between the different grades and it worked really well because people got ultra competitive.

(same basic idea)

We do "Coin Wars"... you get points for everything except bills.

It works really well. :D

NJ Tech's IFSC held their first ever Homecoming football game complete with the king and queen. NJ Tech doesn't have a football team, but the fraternities play intramurally. The football game was the top 3-4 players in each fraternity against NJIT PD and public safety officers.

We wanted to try to avoid the campus wide stereo types of Greeks being superficial so we had a penny war to determine king and queen. It was a great idea and was successful. About $300 was raised by it for the Student Emergency Fund at our school.

a twist on the "coin wars idea"

One of our chapters held a Quarter Mile of Quarters fundraiser to benefit cardiac care, donating $188 in quarters collected from individuals and campus organizations. I believe it was still a competition style format.
