What I Want to Kill When I Grow Up

Link to the Story

Wow. All I can say is wow.

"Raise high the flags... stand rank on rank together! stormtroopers march with steady, quiet tread..."

Great... we got us an Adolf Hitler, Jr. in the works.

This could be Timothy McVeigh Part Deux.

He sounds more like a white supremecist than a conservative.

"Bueler took his story to the conservative press, which immediately transformed the lanky kid into a cause célèbre."

Is this still true, or have they realized that this guy has a problem?

Maybe Bob Jones University?

If that ain't his first choice, maybe Reinhard Heydrich U.

(Heydrich was Himmler's right-hand man in the SS, and considerably more ruthless and ambitious than his boss. Had he not been whacked by Czech commandos, he coulda found a way to take over the SS.)

There is a difference between being "cooky" and being a mass murderer. Where does it say that when he grows up he wants to kill anyone, let alone Muslims? Did I miss it? If it is true, wow.

"Politics is not the answer," Bueler shot back. His eyes glinted as he began explaining to the audience why he was no longer planning to enroll at a university. "I am tired of the religion of peace, Islam," Bueler thundered. "I know that Islam is not peaceful—it’s rooted in evil. And these people have declared war against all of us, all of us being Christians and Jews. And they want to do what they did to Daniel Pearl and Paul Johnson and Nick Berg to us. What I’m going to do is join the Army Rangers."

The elderly crowd began applauding, but Bueler wasn’t finished. He explained how his father tried to sway Bueler from this decision, warning that he would most likely find death in Iraq. To this point, Bueler shared with the audience, he shrugged and smiled.

"As long as I take one of those guys with me, I’ll be very satisfied."

Yeah it's near the end of the article but my issue was with the author when he said the boy wanted to do something that Conservative only dream about:Killing Muslims.

As much as I'm am Anti-GOP, I have a hard time swallowing that killing Muslim is what they dream about all day. My beef is with the author.

As far as the kid goes, we have Millions just like em here in the states nad they vote on both sides of the ticket.

Yes, I think that was definitely an example of the writer's bias. Is this piece in the op ed section? While I'm sure there are plenty of conservatives who do dream about killing Muslims, I doubt it's the majority of the party.

Nevertheless, the kid DOES say that he wants to kill them. But what I'm interested in is how he started to develop those views in the first place. Obviously they were not something he got from his parents, and it doesn't sound like it was something he got at school, either.

I agree, the author took some liberties. But, the kid has issues. I am embarassed for him...Did you see where he said that Muslims were after "all of us" meaning Christians and Jews? Wow! I didn't realize that all the victims of the WTC tragedy were Christians and Jews. I dare say that Muslims were also killed, seeing as how the attackers were not truly Muslim and didn't care who they killed. Hmmm...Could someone put this kid in time out before he pokes an eye out?

Its way to late for that. This kid needs serious psychotherapy, and possibly medication.

I don't think anyone just dreams of killing people with the exception of the few real disgusting specimens of humanity. I don't think he wanted to kill all Muslims or Muslims in general even if the article makes it that way.

He said he wants to join the military and if he dies, take one of the guys he's fighting with him from what I understood.

Ummm, From what he said about Muslims and looking at the end, We're going to have to agree to disagree on that one Rudey.

Fair enough but where I read the part saying "with me" I didn't think he just wanted to kill random people...but some see differently.

But isn't it funny that this "alternative" newspaper is based out of one of the most conservative areas in America?

--And how do they have such perfect quotes from a school speech?
