Ideas for books? (A Bend in The Road by Nicholas Sparks originally "sparked" the idea ;))

What do you all think? Anyone interested?

I just finished reading that one......

I would like to join. My only request is that we start it after Christmas. This is the one time of year when I find I don't have much time to read (or I'm too tired to read more than a few pages)

I think that is a wonderful idea!!

Up until Christmas is over I think people are just really stressed out. I know for me until Wednesday (when school ends for the year) I have no time to myself.


So far A Bend in the Road is a title that we are interested in reading.

Just wanted to say that A Bend in the Road is an *excellent* book! Even if we don't do a book club, I'd love to discuss this book with anyone! :)

Has anyone read I am Charlotte Simons by Tom Wolfe? I just finished it...long book but very accurate portrayal of today's college life IMO. I started reading Wicked...too early to have an opinion about it but its far more racy and adult than I expected (my 15 yr old sister wants to read it too and I'm not sure I want her to read it).

I just finished "I Am Charlotte Simmons" last month. It WAS a long book, and just showed me that "everything old is new again." In other words, many of the same stereotypes, judgements, etc, of college students are just as they always were.
As for another book, I'm up for it!

I am going to start reading American Chica: Two Worlds, One Childhood by Marie Arana next.

What's the book about? Can you buy it in paperback? I ask because I just bought a book (can't think of the name off hand) and I really can't afford another hardcover.
