Young GLOs with PERPS??

You know the saying, "Let your haters be your motivators" how about "Let your perpetrators be your motivators"?? :)

I am amazed that my organization already has perps (people sporting paraphernalia, claiming membership, throwing signs, etc. who are NOT members of the organization).

I would love to hear from other young orgs about your experiences. I've said it before, as annoying and disrepectful as it may seem, it really means something that a person wants to be in your organization so much that they would risk wearing your leetters or claiming your name.

So, thanks to all the perps out there for further validating my admiration for Theta Nu Xi! :D

Groupies

I've been to events where we have truly had groupies. These are girls that say they don't have any interest in pledging, yet they sport pink and black (all of them)....no letters, though, they at least know better than that....maybe they don't have the GPA so they can't pledge???? Who knows???

O-O-P-C!!!.....Whiskers!!!

I don't think age has anything to do with it. I've always thought of it as kinda sad that people would rather perp than seek out the proper channels towards membership...

LOL! Sad indeed. But, not everyone in college (or already graduated) truly understands the value of doing things the right way. I still like the perps (I didn't say respect mind you!)...they got no sense...and you know God protects fools and children. :p

I don't think age is a factor. If an organization is a successful, popular one on the campus or in the area, people will want to join it. If people lack what it takes to join, but want the prestige, they will perp.

Hey now, watch yourself! LOL! This thread is actually a culmination of a number of incidents I have heard about and witnessed. :)

On the topic of the age of an org, I see what y'all are saying and you're absolutely correct. It just completely surprises me to see this happen to younger orgs when it's usually the older orgs we're in recruitment "competition" with for members. Does that make sense?
