I got engaged yesterday afternoon!!!!


My boyfriend is a Pi Kappa Phi, and yesterday at the Biltmore Estate in Asheville, NC, he proposed. We were on the grounds, walking near the bass pond, and the moment was just perfect! It was so romantic and sweet! Yesterday was our two year anniversary, too.

The ring is beautiful. And huge. And beautiful.

When we got back to Greenville, we went to his house, and were surprised by his entire fraternity, all my Eta Alpha sisters, and all of our other friends. They didn't tell me what was going on (Nathan already knew - he was part of the planning process), and they ushered me into the house. As soon as they opened the door, all my sisters starting singing Dream Awhile for my candlepass!!!! I sobbed and sobbed. HappyKappa (my big sister) had to hold me up because I was crying so hard! His fraternity was there as well, and they took him into another room and cheered for him, sang to him, and wrestled with him for about 10 minutes. Then, from somewhere in the house the rest of our friends emerged and it was a huge hug- and tear-fest! It was amazing.

*sigh*

It's been the most amazing two days!

Oh, did I mention that Stephie snuck into my room while I was gone yesterday to find lyrics to a song I learned at Leadership Academy? Yeah, she did. And all the girls learned it last night and sang it to me after the candlepass. Did I also mention I have the best sisters ever!?!

I'm just on cloud nine right now. So is Nathan. It's amazing.

These past few days HAVE been amazing & I am so happy for Katie & Nathan!!

I am soo glad that everything worked out last night... we knew Katie wanted a candlepass, so Nathan made sure that it would be super special! And it was... I cried like a baby, since I was the one that was on the look out for when the door opened and Katie walked in... I then started Dream Awhile... but her getting to the door was suspense!! I heard her outside when she got out of the car and it just hit me that SHE WAS ENGAGED!! It was a fabulous candlepass!!

Yes, it is true that I was sneaky sneaky and found the words to a Kappa engagement song so that Katie could have it at her candlepass!! I called Kappas from all the different chapters I know and I was about to call headquarters when we realized that the song was in Katie's room! So we hacked onto her computer to get the lyrics & learned it before they got back last night!! :D

I'msohappythatKTK is an engaged Kappa Kappa Gamma!! We LOVE you sooo much!!

...Let the wedding planning begin!! (I mean, we started it way before this day!! hehe)

I never got to have a candle pass. *sigh* So I'll live vicariously through you all. :D

I have a soft spot for those Pi Kappa Phi boys even though I married an Alpha Tau Omega.

Some of the boys are more excited than I have ever seen them before! It's so cute! One of them cannot stop smiling. So precious.

Whenever I get cranky from studying for finals (my first is today), I think KTK & Nathan are getting marriiiied! It makes studying so much better! :D

That is SO awesome! This past week was final's week so I'm sad that I didn't get to see that post when it originally up, but I'm sooooooooooo happy for you!

So you'll be Katie H. eventually and I'll be Cat H. eventually :) hehe yay for fiance's with the last name's starting in H.

You mentioned that you and your sister might get married during the same summer, what summer might that be? Joel and I are planning summer 06.

OK so it's taken me like a billion years to get back to GC....aye.


Anyway, here's the update. I got engaged on a Tuesday. My sister (biological) Kristen got engaged that Saturday. As you can imagine, my parents freaked! But they are really really excited now! My mom can't wait to start planning. In fact, we are going dress shopping tomorrow, and when my sister comes home for the holidays we're going to take her dress shopping as well.

But, we won't get married the same summer. Kristen and her fiance (Nathan...we're both marrying Nathans....AHHHHHHHHH) will be married this August!

I'm so excited for her! She's going to be a beautiful bride. (as an extra bonus for me, I get to be a bridesmaid before I'm a bride hehehehe)

I will post pictures of the ring and of the candlepass as soon as I figure out how to do that....or if Boo wants to do it, she has all the pics too...considering she took them all :)

who knew that two GC girls would end up going to Leadership Academy together, being in the same group (GO SKYBLUE!), and then getting engaged so close to one another!? And planning to get married the same summer!?!

Indeed! I couldn't be happier that we met and then all this cool stuff happened ^_^V. It wouldn't have nearly been as exciting for me to hear on GC had we not met at Leadership Academy. ::hugs her lots::

And don't forget the coincidence that we'll be having the same initial for our last names :) So many links.

June or July... June if FAFSA needs to be filled out for grad school, either if that doesn't matter... I can't use July 22nd though as one of our sisters, Mary, who goes here with me, will be getting married that day. Joel and I are going to wait until it's closer til this summer to pick out our wedding date for the folllowing summer.

btw- are you also pinned or lavaliered to your fiance's fraternity? If so you could add that to our list of things in common, hehe :)
