ABOUT YOU!!
what's some things most people don't know about you? i'll go first... that i started school early. i have a sept. birthday and my mom didn't want to wait another year to enroll me and since i went to private school (up until the 3rd grade), i was able to start early. most people don't know that i became a licensed cosmotologist in the state of texas at age 16. my high school was a career development school also and you could learn trades, vocations or concentrate on an area of study (like math, science, and computers). well, i was in the cosmotology cluster and took the state board test and passed my junior year. most everyone else was 17 but since i started school early, i was 16. a lot of people don't know that i had a sister born about 11 months after me. she died from S.I.D.S. and she only lived 1 day. what about yall? |

I have a German half-brother (10 months older,) courtesy of my father during WWII. We found each other 6 years ago. I am now the middle child. I also now have a sister-in-law, a niece and 2 grand-nieces. I have been to Germany twice and he has been here once. So it is his turn to travel. :D (He is the spitting image of my Dad.) |

I started school early too (Another September birthday), at the age of 4 , I was in kindergarten and I went to a Catholic School (but I am not Catholic though) My name was supposed to be Deborah Denise, after my daddy's youngest sister. I was supposed to have an older brother, but my mommy had a miscarriage at 4 months. I have only had 2 major boyfriends in my whole 22 years of living! I started reading at 2 years old! And I still love reading to this day! I think that is it for now! I hope!! lol |
Here are some...
I have 8 siblings, 5 brothers, two half-brothers, and one sister. Between 5 of my siblings, I have over 25 nieces and nephews, 10 of them by one brother alone. I became a grand-uncle 6 years ago (my oldest niece had a child, and is about to have a second one in March or April 2005).
Had a great-grandfather that was Scotch-Irish. Academically, I could have graduated 4 years ahead of schedule (was supposed to be skipped from the 2nd grade to the 6th), but my mother refused. The irony was that I was put in an LBD (Learning Behavior Disablities) program during my 2nd and 3rd grade years before being moved into a Gifted and Talented program in my 4th grade year. (NOTE: Before you make any "short bus" jokes, understand this: Back then, and even now to some extent, many schools conspire to warehouse black males in some sort of special ed program, particularly if he comes from a low income and/or single parent family. So make sure you know your children and that this doesn't happen to you. Because it can, and it has). *stepping off soapbox* Wrote a fictional storybook called "Alex and Alan" back in 5th grade, and was interviewed on Action 6 News during a Young Authors Conference (Saturday, May 19, 1984) for my acheivement. Won the Columbus Youth Foundation All-Around Student Award June 1, 1987 (at the height of my "nerd" years). My name was to be originally Julius Caesar [last name] III after my father, but my mother vetoed it. I actually considered changing it to such to keep the family name going, but after discussing it with my father, he gave me an "Are you crazy?" lecture and I dropped the idea. Believe it or not, my half brothers are named Octavius Caesar (older brother) and Mark Anthony (younger), the latter I finally met 4 years ago. I asked my father once had I been born a girl, would I have been named Cleopatra. He replied "no" but it would have been strangely appropriate, also due to the fact that at that time, I would have shared the same name as a popular blaxploitation character. I would've been named Michela (or is it MiKayla?) BTW, I was told I was named Jason after the TV character on Room 222. |
I lived abroad for 3 months when I was 14.
I got my first gray hair at age 17 and it's been downhill ever since. I presented a workshop at the NPHC National Convention last year. I have 2 cats - Shaolin and Jodeci (don't ask, lol) |
that i am a dominologist, a rare breed that can beat the dots off any other dominoe player.
i was born the september after the hottest reported summer in dallas. my mom ate a lot of watermelon that summer. so, i have a birth mark on the bottom of my foot that looks like a watermelon seed. i'm distant cousins to spud webb and christopher darden (lawyer in the o.j. simpson case) i didn't learn how to ride a bike until the 6th grade. |

Ok, my list ..... 1. According to doctors, I never should have been conceived and carried to full term. My mom was told she had Pelvic Inflammatory Disease and that she would never have children because the scar tissue was so bad. After my birth, there was no evidence of the disease or scar tissue. 2. I can still wear kids shoes. Size 4.5 3. I played the viola from 5th to 8th grade. I was 4th chair in the Memphis Cadet Orchestra and 2nd chair in the All West TN Orchestra. 4. When I was little I would suck in my jaws trying to create dimples. Now it has become a habit and I rarely know when I am doing it. 5. I dance while eating very good food. I kinda rock side to side, shake my head a little. It looks just like I am dancing while sitting down. I rarely know when I am doing this too because I am enjoying the food so much. I think that's it. |
